Students and community members can now audition for Good Fortune: A Cautionary Tale, directed by Brian Fruits with Julie Giampaolo as designer coordinator and collaborating faculty member.
Synopsis
Let go from her job in the middle of the pandemic, Tarin spends her last $150 to be "certified" online as a fortune teller specializing as a "Finder," thinking she can scam money out of people who have it to burn. One day, a desperate father contacts her to find his missing daughter. Tarin makes up a vision and three days later, the daughter is found, alive and unharmed. News of the find spreads and Tarin, figuring she got lucky, leans into the new interest. Soon, many parents are clamoring for her guidance. One by one, she makes up stories and one by one, the children are found. Tarin begins to wonder if she really does have a gift - until she meets one mother whose child never turns up.
