CPR Instruction

The American Heart Association (AHA) offers several different types of CPR classes, depending on the needs of the student. Information on this page pertains to the Basic Life Support (BLS) Provider classes for healthcare providers.

The AHA BLS Provider class is geared toward individuals working in the healthcare field. This class teaches both single-rescuer and team basic life support skills for use in pre-hospital and hospital environments.

Currently, only CPR 125 Blended Courses (skills only class) are being offered. Students must purchase and complete the American Heart Association's BLS Heart-Code Online class and bring the printed "Certificate" to the CPR 125 Skills Only class. To purchase the BLS Heart-Code Online class, please visit the American Heart Association website.

What Will I Learn?

Students will learn the techniques of CPR/AED for infants, children and adults, as well as how to assist a choking victim. Students participate in skills practice and testing, and will complete a written exam. Upon successful completion of the course, students will receive a AHA CPR certification card that is valid for two years.
