The JJC Fine Arts Department is pleased to provide the community with theatre, music and art events. Some performances and events will be virtual, and some will be in person.


How to Tune in

We are excited to provide paperless ticketing through our new online platform, Ludus. While we no longer offer physical tickets, our staff are available on weekdays to assist both over the phone and via email. 

The Box Office also offers ticket sales in-person an hour before each performance. Cash and card are both accepted methods of payment.

Many in-person events will also be available for live streaming and/or recording upon request. For questions, please email boxoffice@jjc.edu.

    • Monday - Sunday from 8am-8pm when the college is open.

    The Joliet Junior College Juried Student Art Exhibition

    Opens on Monday April 13th and runs through Thursday, June 25th. Works to be included in this exhibition will be selected by this year's juror, artist Rita Grendze, from artwork completed by Joliet Junior College students in studio art courses and may include painting, drawing, graphic design, figure drawing, ceramics, metals, and photography. 

    The reception for this event will take place from 4:30p.m. - 6:30p.m. on Friday, May 8th. The Juror's Critique and Presentation of Awards will be held in the gallery. All are welcome!

    April

    April 29th at 12PM - Student Recital will be held in person as well as live streamed.

     

    May

    • May 1st at 7:30PM - On Friday, May 1st, at 7:30 pm in the JJC Fine Arts Theatre, the JJC Jazz band under direction of Richard Moore will present a concert of the music by composer and arranger Quincy Jones. The Concert will also feature original arrangements and compositions by the JJC Student Jazz Combo under the direction of Adjunct Faculty, Leon Lewis-Nicol, and the concert will open with the Plainfield Central High School Jazz Band under the direction or Ryan Kazda. Tickets are $10 for general admission and $5 for students and Seniors. All ticket proceeds support music student scholarships. Joliet Junior College and the Fine Arts Department acknowledge support from Illinois Arts Council. The Jazz Band and Jazz Combo Concert will be held in person as well as live streamed.
    • May 2nd at 3PM - The JJC Choir's Spring Concert will take place on Saturday, May 2nd, 2026, at 3pm, featuring performances by the JJC Community Chorale and Chamber Singers. Audiences will be treated to an afternoon or stunning choral works, with a diverse selection of pieces that highlight the skill and passion of these talented vocal ensembles. It promised to be an inspiring and enjoyable musical experience for all. The Choral and Chamber Singers Concert will be held in person as well as live streamed.
    • May 3rd at 3PM - Join us for the Joliet Junior College Community Band's Spring Concert: Celebrating American Composers on Sunday, May 3rd, at 3:00pm in the Fine Arts Theatre at Joliet Junior College, 1215 Houbolt Road. Under the direction of Professor Charles Morgan, Director of Bands, this concert promises an inspiring afternoon of exceptional music. The program opens with a dynamic selection of works showcasing the depth and diversity of American band literature, including George Washington Bicentennial March by John Philip Sousa, Appalachian Spring by Aaron Copland, Sacrifice by Julie Giroux, and Randall Standridge's energetic Animation. These pieces highlight the ensemble's versatility and the expressive power of concert band performance. Following intermission, the celebration continues with Eternal Flame by Brian Balmages, Arlington by Paul Murtha, Randal Bass's exciting arrangement of music from the classic film Silverado, selections from John Williams's Superman, and the beloved American march The Stars and Stripes Forever. This season marks the 47th anniversary of the JJC Community Band-a proud tradition of musical excellence. We invite you to join us in commemorating this milestone and enjoying and afternoon of outstanding repertoire performed by some of the region's finest musicians.     • May 8th at 7:30PM - The JJC Percussion Ensemble, directed by Adam Cowger, will present their spring concert on Friday, May 8th at 7:30pm in the JJC Fine Arts Theatre and live streamed. The Ensemble will perform several musical genres including contemporary Classical, jazz, fusion, Afro-Cuban, and traditional Brazilian samba. Additionally, several students will perform solo works. Featured composers include Nat Adderly, Marc Cohn, Robert Francis, Ray Obiedo, Kevin Robles, Matthias Schmitt, Ivan Trevino and Jonathan Wilmarth. JJC jazz piano instructor, Dr. Leon Lewis-Nicol, will perform as a special guest artist.
    • May 9th at 3PM - The JJC Steelband, directed by Adam Cowger, will present their spring concert on Saturday, May 9th at 3pm in the JJC Fine Arts Theatre and live streamed. This ensemble performs on authentic steel pans that have been painstakingly crafted and tuned into beautiful, fully chromatic instruments from oil drums. Come enjoy your favorite Soca, calypso, reggae, Brazilian, Afro-Cuban, and classical music, as well as wonderful arrangements of popular hits. The Bishop Noll Institute Steel Band, directed by Kirk Hickman, will perform as special guests.
    • May 12th at 7:30PM - Honors recital will be held in person as well as live streamed.

    About: After a local woman is murdered, the guests and staff at Monkswell Manor find themselves stranded during a snowstorm. It soon becomes clear that the killer is among them, and the strangers grow increasingly suspicious of one another.

    Theatre Location
    Our theatre is located in the JJC Main Campus K-Building, with entry through J-Building. Upon arriving to one of the two main entrances, please follow the posted signs to the right of the entrance roadways guiding you to the theatre.

     

    Parking
    Free parking is available in Lot N3, located just outside the J-Building. Once on campus this can be found by following the signs for the J-Building/Theatre.

    For any Rideshare, Para transport, or other transportation services - please use the JJC Main Campus address of 1215 Houbolt Rd. Joliet, IL 60431, with the additional directions of the one above following the signs for the J-Building, parking lot N3.

    There is also a PACE, the suburban bus service, stop right outside of the J-Building. It serves the JJC Main Campus Monday through Saturday. Direct service to JJC is available via PACE bus 501. Transfer routes to JJC include PACE buses 503, 505, 506, and 507. For more information visit the Contact PACE Website.

    Please note that if you have a need for accessible parking there are plenty of accessible spots near the entrance of the J-building. Please contact the Box Office with any parking questions.

    Please refer to your ticket or the event page for official start time of your performance.

     

    Late seating Policy
    Please plan to arrive on time! Late arrivals may not be granted immediate entry. If you arrive after the show has started:

    • You may not be seated in your original seat.
    • You may be asked to wait until intermission.
    • You may be encouraged to exchange your ticket for another performance night, depending on how late you arrive.
    • You may be turned away.

     

    Ticket Policy
    Ticket sales are nonrefundable and go towards student scholarships. if you are unable to attend your performance and wish to transfer your tickets to someone else, you may do so by clicking or tapping View My Order in your confirmation email. Then click the Begin Transfer button on your Ludus confirmation screen and select the tickets you want to transfer.

     

    Theatre Etiquette
    No photography or video recording during the performance. No food or drink inside the theatre.

     

    Accessibility Information
    We are committed to making our performances welcoming and accessible for all guests. If you have specific accessibility needs, we are here to help. Please note that if you have a need for accessible parking there are plenty of accessible spots near the entrance of the J-building. Please contact the Box Office with any parking questions.     • Wheelchair seating - Our theatre offers designated wheelchair-accessible seating along with companion seats. Please select these when purchasing your tickets or contact the Box Office for assistance.
    • ASL-interpreted Performances - We offer one ASL-interpreted performance per show run. Look for dates marked with "ASL Interpreted" when choosing your performance or reach out to confirm availability.
    • Service Animals - Guests with trained service animals are welcome. Please contact us in advance so we can make the appropriate accommodations for you and your companion.
    • Assistive Listening Devices - Assistive listening devices are available upon request at the Box Office prior to the performance. For availability or questions, please contact us in advance.
