Full job description
The System Support Technician monitors and maintains the computer systems and networks of our

organization. We install and configure computer systems, diagnose hardware/software faults and solve technical problems either over the phone or face-to-face. We also support servers, databases, RFID equipment, an extensive wireless infrastructure, and external connections via VPN and SSH.

In essence, the IT support technician is responsible for ensuring the smooth running of computer

systems, and IT infrastructure throughout the warehouse. Tasks will vary depending on the skill level but will typically include but is not limited to:


Schedule: (1 Wed- Saturday 3am- 1:30PM) (1 Wed- Saturday 1PM-11:30PM)
Duties & Responsibilities

installing and configuring computer systems;
monitoring and maintaining computer systems and networks;
talking staff/clients through a series of actions, either face to face or over the telephone;
troubleshooting system and network problems
replacing parts as required;
supporting new applications;
setting up new users;
responding help desk tickets;
working continuously on a task until completion (or referral to third parties, if appropriate);
prioritizing and managing several open cases at one time;
enforcing IT policy
Required Skills:

The following skills will be required to perform the functions of the job:
Advanced knowledge of all Microsoft Windows desktop and server operating systems
Working knowledge of Microsoft Active Directory, Group Policy, WSUS, SharePoint 2010 and
Exchange 2010
Advanced knowledge with Wi-Fi and Bluetooth technology
Working knowledge of help desk ticketing software (preferably Spiceworks)
Working knowledge of TCP/IP, DNS, and LAN concepts
Advanced knowledge of desktop and server hardware as well as peripherals
Advanced knowledge of all Microsoft Office suites
Additional skills that would be preferred in the candidate would be:
CompTIA or Microsoft certifications
Experience in Microsoft Visual Studio, Expressions Suite, and PowerShell
Experience with Warehouse Management Software, Vocollect Voice software and EDI functions
Advanced knowledge of Web App development within SharePoint 2010 or 2013
Knowledge of Microsoft SQL 2008 through 2010
