Health & Public Services

Education programs in the Health and Public Services Department at JJC are designed to meet the health care, public service and safety needs of the community college district -- including students, residents and local employers.

We offer a wide variety of programs at the Associate in Applied Science degree level, as well as certificates, licenses and continuing education. In addition to classroom and hands-on instruction, each program emphasizes community service and development of employment/job-seeking skills.

Our health programs include:

  • Emergency services (EMR, EMT and paramedic levels)
  • Diagnostic medical sonography (diagnostic ultrasound)
  • Radiologic technology
  • Certified nurse assistant
  • Electrocardiography technician (EKG)
  • Phlebotomy
  • CPR instruction

Our public service programs include:

  • Fire science
  • Criminal justice
  • Law enforcement
