In observation of Independence Day, the Morris Education Center will be open from 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Monday -Thursday, during the week of June 30, 2014. Closed on Friday, July 4, 2014.
Opened in August 2001, this 4,900 square foot facility serves the greater Grundy County community and surrounding areas by providing continuing education and workforce services.
Classrooms are available for meetings, recruiting events, professional development, and employer training. All classrooms are equipped with the latest instructional technology:
- Three semi-smart rooms
- State-of-the-art computer lab
- Seating for 24 in each room
- Credit and non-credit classes available
- English as a Second Language (ESL) and General Education Development (GED) programs

ACT Compass Testing
Incoming students can take the ACT COMPASS test at the Morris Education Center on the following Thursdays:
- July 17 and 31, 2014
- August 7, 2014
8:00 a.m. - 1:00 p.m.
(The last test begins at 11:00 a.m.)
The JJC Morris Education Center has a variety of services to assist the general public in completing academic and employment goals.
Prospective and current JJC students can:
- Make payments
- Meet with a general academic advisor
In addition, provided the computer lab is not in use by a class, students can work in this lab to complete course work during posted day and evening hours.
Joliet Junior College offers a variety of workforce preparation opportunities at the Morris Education Center. JJC has been awarded several Workforce Investment Act grants by the Grundy Livingston Kankakee Workforce board to provide training and employment assistance to eligible youth, adults and dislocated workers. These programs are all offered at the Grundy Workforce Services office in the JJC Morris Education Center. Opportunities include a resource room for job seekers and an online Job Board listing open positions in the region.
