Architectural Studies

  • Architecture, Manufacturing & Automotive

The Architectural Studies program prepares students to enter an exciting career in the design and construction industry and offer unlimited job opportunities.

What Will I Learn?

The Architectural Studies program focuses on preparing students to be productive members of an architectural firm and/or be able to continue their education at an accredited architecture program to earn an advanced degree ultimately leading to professional licensing.

Students in this program receive a solid foundation in the processes of architecture. They take what they learn, combine it with their own creativity and find success in the business of building.

Graduates with an associate degree in Architectural Studies are fully prepared to, and most do, transfer to accredited schools of architecture in both Illinois and universities nationally to pursue their bachelor’s and master’s degrees in architecture or a related field.

For graduates entering the career track with their associate degree, there are many opportunities as architectural interns and CADD technicians. Related career paths are urban design, structural or civil engineering, architectural historian, code enforcement and inspection, technology and virtual construction, construction management, product development and representation, facilities management, sustainability manager and others.
