New Employee Onboarding

Welcome to Joliet Junior College! As one of the newest members of the JJC community, we congratulate you on your new job. Prior to your first day of employment, you will need to complete and submit your new hire paperwork and visit the Human Resources Department with two forms of identification. Our office is located in Suite A-3000 of the Gena Proulx Campus Center at 1215 Houbolt Road, Joliet. Illinois. All new hire documents are important and should be completed in a timely manner in order to get you setup as a new employee and processed through payroll.

New Hire Orientation

The Human Resources Department welcomes new faculty and staff to join us for New Employee Orientation. Come find out what makes JJC such a great place to work: the history, values, safety, recognition and more! Orientation should be completed during your first 30 days of employment. You will be able to register for an orientation session after you have been issued an employee ID number.

Below are the first steps most new College employees must take to get started.

1. New Hire Paperwork

It is necessary for new Joliet Junior College employees to complete various forms in the Human Resources Department upon employment. Follow the directions below to complete, sign, upload and submit the New Hire Paperwork packet prior to your start date. You will also need to bring two forms of identification (see I-9 forms) prior to your employment. If you have questions, contact Human Resources at 815-280-2266 or

​2. New Hire Full Time Employee Benefits

Full Time Benefits Paperwork

If you are a full-time, benefits-eligible employee, you will need to complete, sign, upload and submit benefits paperwork. On your first day of employment, you will also need to schedule your benefits orientation with Patty Sanchez, HR Benefits Specialist. Contact her at to set up your appointment.

3. Registering your Vehicle on Campus

New employees should park in the appropriate faculty/staff lot and call in to (815) 280-2234 when they arrive. They should tell the dispatcher that they are a new employee and that they will come to the Campus Police Department located in G-Building, room G-1013 (next to the Fitness Center) that day to get their new tag. Request to be put on the Do Not Ticket list for that day to prevent having to go back out to the car and post the tag. When getting your parking tag, you will need your driver's license and must provide the make, model, and license plate number of your vehicle.

4. Setting up your Campus Email

The department secretary or your immediate supervisor is responsible for completing the email setup request. Please follow-up with your department on your first day of employment.

5. Pay Information

Joliet Junior College follows a bi-weekly cycle.

Payday is Thursday. Paychecks are no longer available for pickup as they are mailed out on payday, Thursday.

All employees of the College are welcome to use direct deposit for their paycheck. Any bank that participates in electronic funds transfers can be used. Authorization to start or stop a direct deposit will require an employee's signature. Direct deposit forms are included in the new hire paperwork.
