As technology increasingly plays a vital role in every area of life, job opportunities for JJC's Computer Information and Office Systems graduates expand every year, with many earning six-figure salaries.
The CIOS department offers degrees and certificates in many exciting and cutting-edge areas such as game design, cybersecurity, iPhone programming, graphic design, web design, and more.
Our programs help students begin their careers or prepare them for transfer to a four-year university: or for those already employed, who want to increase their skills and earning potential, we can help you get ahead. With many classes offered online in addition to traditional on-campus classes, our students benefit from schedule flexibility.
We invite you to explore the programs we offer, and contact our program advisers if you have any questions. We're here to help you achieve the career of your dreams.
In 2018, Cybersecurity has been added to the robust selection of programs in the CIOS Department that prepare students for careers in the cutting edge of technology. Be sure to check these programs out and learn why the Bureau of Labor Statistics ranks it as an area expected to grow much faster than the average for all other occupations.
Students who will be sophomores in a CIOS program are eligible to apply for the Richard W. and Judith B. Manthei Endowed Scholarship. It is available each year for a sophomore CIOS student (32 credit hours or more) who is a District 525 resident with a 3.0 GPA or above.
Registration for this scholarship is open January 1 through April 1, and the scholarship will be effective the following fall semester. Applicants must have completed their FAFSA.
