JJC Volleyball raises funds for The Side-Out Foundation
The Joliet Junior College volleyball team participated in the annual Side-Out Foundation Dig Pink campaign on October 15, 2009 in a home match against Moraine Valley Community College.
The Side-Out Foundation was established in 2004 by a group of individuals drawn together by their love of volleyball, but who also share a similar passion to be part of the war against breast cancer. Side-Out's mission is to raise money for breast cancer through the recreational activity of volleyball. Each year in October, the foundation holds hundreds of featured high school and college matches across the country to help educate and raise funds to eradicate this terrible disease. Proceeds are used in the areas of therapeutic treatments and improved quality of life for breast cancer patients.
The Lady Wolves volleyball team raised a total of $575.00 to donate to The Side-Out Foundation in honor of National Breast Cancer awareness month.
