Lady Wolves start season in Kankakee Tourney

The Joliet Junior College volleyball team opened up their season with a trip to the annual Kankakee Community College volleyball tournament. In game one, JJC fell to Kankakee by a score of 20-25, 23-25, 25-16, 25-17, 11-15. Laura Wills and Tabitha Dabulskis had 9 kills each, while Mallory Frankovich and Alexis Nelson finished with 8 kills each. Frankovich earned 18 digs, while Nelson totaled 15 digs. Wills had a team-high 6 blocks as Megan Orozco had 26 assists in the contest. In game two, the Lady Wolves topped Kaskaskia College with a score of 25-22, 25-22, 26-28, 20-25, 15-13. Alexis Nelson had 17 kills and 21 digs, while Mallory Frankovich had 14 kills and 30 digs. Jesse Dolman and Laura Wills both earned 6 blocks each, as Alexa Rezin and Megan Orozco combined for 48 assists. JJC (1-1 overall) continues tournament play at Kankakee Community College on Saturday, August 27, 2011. Game time is 9:00 am.

JJC wraps up tournament play at Kankakee Tourney

The JJC volleyball team continued pool play at the Kankakee Community College volleyball tournament on Saturday. The Lady Wolves fell to Lewis & Clark Community College in five games with a score of 22-25, 22-25, 25-23, 25-20, 16-18. Mallory Frankovich had 9 kills and 31 digs. Jesse Dolman finished with 17 digs, as Alexa Nelson earned 15 digs. Alexa Rezin added 22 assists. JJC then came back with a win over McHenry County College by a score of 25-19, 25-11, 20-25, 25-18. Frankovich led the way with 13 kills and 20 digs. Alexis Nelson added 11 kills and 19 digs in the contest. Laura Wills finished with 7 kills, 7 blocks, and 9 digs. Illinois Central defeated the Lady Wolves in game three by a 25-27, 17-25, 25-27 score. Alexis Nelson paced the offense with 16 kills. Mallory Frankovich had 22 digs, while Tierra Pittman finished with 16 digs. Lady Wolves fall in five games to Harper

The Joliet Junior College volleyball team was defeated by N4C conference opponent Harper College by a score of 13-25, 23-25, 25-20, 25-18, 6-15. Alexis Nelson had 14 kills and 18 digs, while Mallory Frankovich added 12 kills and 19 digs. Jesse Dolman finished with 10 kills and 16 digs. Laura Wills and Tabitha Dabulskis both earned 5 blocks each, as Megan Orozco had 26 assists in the contest. JJC takes two wins in doubleheader

The JJC volleyball team was victorious in a doubleheader contest with South Suburban College and Madison College. In game one against South Suburban, it was all JJC by a score of 25-11, 25-18. Alexis Nelson and Laura Wills paced the offense with 6 kills each. Nelson had a team-high 10 digs, while Mallory Frankovich and Holly Panock both finished with 7 digs. Alexa Rezin had 9 assists for the Lady Wolves. In game two, Joliet topped N4C conference opponent Madison College by a score of 25-17, 25-23, 25-16. Alexis Nelson led the way with 13 kills and 10 digs. Mallory Frankovich added 8 kills and 11 digs in the contest. Tabitha Dabulskis put up 10 blocks, while Laura Wills finished with 7 blocks. Alexa Rezin earned 25 assists. JJC (4-4 overall, 1-1 N4C) travels to Lincoln Land Community College for a tournament on Friday, September 2, 2011 and Saturday, September 3, 2011.

Lady Wolves earn another two victories

The Joliet Junior College volleyball team picked up a pair of wins in the opening day of the Lincoln Land Community College tournament. In game one, the Lady Wolves downed Lake Land Community College by a score of 25-22, 25-14, 25-21. Jesse Dolman had 9 kills, while Mallory Frankovich had 8 kills. Frankovich and Alexis Nelson had 16 digs each, while Tierra Pittman finished with 15 digs. Alexa Rezin chipped in with 25 assists. In game two, JJC battled to defeat Lincoln Land Community College by a 19-25, 25-20, 25-19, 18-25, 15-7 score. Alexis Nelson had a team-high 14 kills as well as 22 digs. Mallory Frankovich finished with 8 kills and 25 digs. Tabitha Dabulskis totaled 10 blocks, while Alexa Rezin earned 29 assists. JJC (6-4 overall) continues tournament play at Lincoln Land on Saturday, September 3, 2011.

Lady Wolves earn 1st place at Lincoln Land Tournament

The JJC volleyball team earned a first place finish at the Lincoln Land Community College volleyball tournament by finishing with a 3-1 overall record. In game one of the day, JJC defeated St. Louis Community College-Florissant Valley by a score of 25-13, 25-19, 25-20. Alexis Nelson had 9 kills and 15 digs, while Tabitha Dabulskis earned 7 kills and 5 blocks. In game two, the Lady Wolves fell to Kaskaskia College by a score of 13-25, 25-27, 25-20, 22-25. Mallory Frankovich had a team high 12 kills and 37 digs for the Lady Wolves. Laura Wills had 10 kills and 7 blocks, as Alexis Nelson finished with 23 digs. Tierra Pittman earned 17 digs, while Alexa Rezin had 29 assists and 16 digs. JJC (7-5 overall) hosts N4C conference opponent College of DuPage on Tuesday, September 6, 2011. Game time is 6:00 pm.

The Joliet Junior College volleyball team defeated N4C conference opponent College of DuPage by a score of 25-11, 25-6, 25-11. Alexis Nelson led the attack with 11 kills and 11 digs. Mallory Frankovich finished with 7 kills and 14 digs, while Holly Panock earned 10 digs. Alexa Rezin added 16 assists in the contest. Mallory Frankovich had 11 kills and 16 digs, as Alexis Nelson earned 10 kills and 17 digs. Tabitha Dabulskis finished with 8 kills, while Alexa Rezin earned 34 assists. In game two, it was all JJC with a 25-11, 25-17, 25-8 score over Morton College. Frankovich totaled 12 kills and 19 digs, while Alexis Nelson had 10 kills and 17 digs. The JJC volleyball team earned a well deserved 5-game victory over N4C conference opponent Rock Valley College by a score of 17-25, 25-23, 17-25, 25-15, 16-14. Mallory Frankovich finished with 19 kills and 23 digs, while Alexis Nelson had 17 kills and 14 digs. Holly Panock tallied 23 digs, as Alexa Rezin earned 48 assists. Mallory Frankovich led the way with 7 kills and 6 digs, followed by Alexis Nelson with 6 kills, 5 aces, and 4 digs. Laura Wills added 5 kills and 9 aces, as Tierra Pittman finished with 15 digs. The JJC volleyball team had a great day at the Illinois Valley Community College tournament earning 1st place and three victories. In game one, the Lady Wolves took down Illinois Valley by a score of 25-21, 25-10, 25-18. Mallory Frankovich and Laura Wills both earned 7 kills each, as Alexis Nelson had 6 kills and 11 digs. In game two, JJC defeated Elgin Community College with a 25-20, 25-20, 25-16 score. Mallory Frankovich finished with 11 kills and 18 digs, while Alexis Nelson had 11 kills and 12 digs. Holly Panock totaled 22 digs in the contest. Setter Alexa Rezin tallied 33 assists. In the final game of the day, it was JJC over Waubonsee Community College by a score of 25-15, 25-12, 25-21. Laura Wills led the way with 10 kills, 9 blocks, and 4 aces. Frankovich had a team-high 19 digs, as Alexa Rezin earned 35 assists. Mallory Frankovich paced the offense with 10 kills and also had 15 digs. Laura Wills totaled 8 kills, 7 digs, and 2 blocks. Holly Panock earned 16 digs, while Alexa Rezin added 34 assists. In game two, it was all JJC over Milwaukee Area Technical College with a score of 25-3, 25-2, 25-4. Laura Wills led the way with 8 kills, 6 digs, and 4 blocks. Alexis Nelson had 6 kills, 4 blocks, and 10 digs in the contest. In the final game of the day, Carl Sandburg defeated JJC by a score of 15-25, 22-25, 25-15, 19-25. Mallory Frankovich had 10 kills and 19 digs, while Laura Wills finished with 5 kills, 5 blocks, and 6 digs. Holly Panock chalked up 19 digs, as Alexa Rezin posted 30 assists. Mallory Frankovich finished with 9 kills and 23 digs, as Holly Panock recorded 21 digs. Wills (8 blocks), Land (7 blocks), and Tabitha Dabulskis (9 blocks) put up a solid front line for the Lady Wolves. Alexa Rezin and Megan Orozco combined for 47 assists. The JJC volleyball team split during their first day of play at the Wisconsin Dells tournament. JJC dropped a 25-27, 23-25, 25-12, 21-25 decision to Black Hawk College. Alexis Nelson paced JJC with 15 kills and 26 digs. Mallory Frankovich had 23 digs, as Holly Panock finished with 22 digs. Alexa Rezin earned 31 assists and 20 digs. In game two, JJC bounced back with a 26-24, 25-22, 25-20 victory over the College of Lake County. Alexis Nelson had 18 kills and 16 digs, as Mallory Frankovich had 12 kills and 21 digs. The Joliet Junior College volleyball team continued play at the Wisconsin Dells tournament against Jackson Community College and South Suburban College. The Lady Wolves defeated Jackson by a score of 25-21, 25-14, 25-15. Mallory Frankovich led the way with 13 kills and 25 digs. Holly Panock added 22 digs, while Alexa Rezin had 28 assists and 15 digs. In game two, JJC defeated South Suburban with a 25-16, 25-9, 19-25, 25-22 score. Alexis Nelson had 16 kills and 22 digs, while Mallory Frankovich finished with 15 kills and 22 digs. The JJC volleyball team earned another victory with a 25-17, 25-8, 25-8 victory over N4C conference opponent Triton College. Laura Wills paced the Lady Wolves with 7 kills and 5 blocks. Holly Panock had a team-high 14 digs. Alexa Rezin and Megan Orozco combined for 21 assists in the contest. The Joliet Junior College volleyball team defeated Malcolm X College in the Region IV quarterfinal playoffs by a score of 25-4, 25-7, 25-3. Mallory Frankovich led the way with 11 kills and 8 digs followed by Alexis Nelson with 8 kills and 9 digs. Holly Panock finished with 15 digs in the contest, as Alexa Rezin earned 26 assists. JJC (32-10 overall) takes on Madison College in the Region IV semi-final on Saturday, October 29, 2011. Game time is 10:00 am at tournament host Harper College.

JJC falls to Madison College

The JJC volleyball team was upset in Region IV semi-final play by Madison College with a final score of 23-25, 15-25, 25-23, 23-25. Alexis Nelson had 13 kills and 17 digs, as Mallory Frankovich finished with 12 kills and 23 digs. Tierra Pittman (17 digs), Holly Panock (15 digs), and Alexa Rezin (14 digs) all contributed defensively. JJC finishes out their season with a 32-11 overall record and an 11-1 N4C conference record.
