LAKISHA CAMERON
Head Volleyball Coach

The 2009 volleyball season will be the first for new head volleyball coach LaKisha Cameron, but she is no stranger to the game of volleyball.
She is originally from Topeka, KS where she lettered in volleyball for three years playing as a defensive specialist at Highland Park High School. She continued her volleyball career at Central Christian College on an athletic and academic scholarship playing as a defensive specialist. Upon graduation from CCC in 2000, she signed again using her remaining NCAA eligibility by playing on scholarship at the University of Illinois-Springfield as a defensive specialist/libero. During her athletic career, she received awards such as team leadership award, defensive player of the year (2 years), best passer, most aggressive player, and she was an academic All-American for two years.
LaKisha was an assistant coach at Harper College for two seasons. She has coached club volleyball for two years and is the club director for the Dynamic Volleyball Club where she is also the head coach for the 18's team.
LaKisha graduated from University of Illinois-Springfield with a bachelor's degree in psychology. She has a master's degree in professional counseling from Argosy University and is currently working on her doctoral degree in counseling psychology. She currently is employed as a therapist specializing in child and family counseling and supervises the community support teams.
