Candice is in her fourth year at JJC and works primarily with Wolves M/W Soccer, M/W Cross Country, Cheerleading, Basketball, and Softball. She also helps in covering JJC Football.

Nate Seville is in his second year at JJC and will work with Football, Basketball, and Baseball. He assists with all other JJC sports coverage and treatment of athletes.

  

Sara DebuhrSara Debuhr

Athletic Training Student

Sara Debuhr is from Urbandale, Iowa. She is currently a senior at Lewis University and in her 4th year of the athletic training program. She will be at JJC mainly to help cover softball for her clinical 3 rotation, but will help cover other spring athletics. Sara was a member of the Lewis University volleyball team for the past four years. Upon graduating from Lewis, Sara is planning to go onto Physical Therapy school.

Kim is the Director of ATI-Joliet and directly oversees the rehabilitation process of JJC athletes as well as administrative duties. Kim also lectures at regional and national seminars on shoulder and knee injuries.

  

Jason Hurbanek, MDJason Hurbanek

Joliet Junior College Team Physician

 Dr. Hurbanek is an orthopaedic surgeon specializing in sports medicine and arthroscopy. He completed a sports medicine fellowship at the Ohio State University where he gained expertise in arthroscopic procedures of the shoulder and knee. In addition, he has developed a special interest in open reconstructive procedures of the shoulder.

Attending Denison University, where he graduated Summa Cum Laude with a B.S. in Biochemistry, Dr. Hurbanek went on to complete his Doctor of Medicine from the combined Ohio State/Cleveland Clinic Program. His residency took him to Henry Ford Hospital in Detroit, Michigan where he received strong orthopaedic trauma and joint replacement training.

During his fellowship, he assisted in the care of all Ohio State athletes, but dedicated his time to the football, men's hockey, and baseball teams. He also served as covering physician for numerous Ohio High School Athletic Associations and Columbus City League championships.

Dr. Hurbanek has been active in research and has spoken at several national and regional orthopaedic meetings. He has authored multiple scientific publications in orthopaedic journals and has taken on leadership roles within the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons (AAOS).

Dr. Hurbanek is in his first season serving as Joliet Junior College's Team Physician.
