Lady Wolves open season against Kankakee
The Joliet Junior College softball team opened their season with a pair of games at Kankakee Community College. In game one, Kankakee edged out the Lady Wolves by a score of 8-4. Kali Pasternak led the Lady Wolves going 4-for-4 with two doubles and an RBI. Karli Beauchamp struck out three in 6 innings. In game two, Kankakee was too much for Joliet as they were shut out 16-0. Kali Pasternak and Amanda Reid had the only hits of the game. JJC (0-2 overall) travels to Illinois Valley Community College on Tuesday, March 13, 2012. Game time is 3:00 pm.

The JJC softball team earned a split decision against Illinois Valley Community College. In game one, JJC topped IVCC by an 8-3 score. Kiara Collins went 4-for-4 with a double, while Gabrielle Poe (HR, 2 RBI's), Lauren Langland, and Melissa Gretz (2 RBI's) all had two hits. Karli Beauchamp struck out 11 on her way to her first win on the mound. In game two, the Lady Wolves had a 3 inning lead, but eventually fell to Illinois Valley by a score of 11-8. Amanda Reid had three hits, while Kali Pasternak, Gabrielle Poe, Lauren Langland, and Karli Beauchamp all had two hits. The JJC softball team defeated N4C conference opponent Madison College by a score of 8-6. Amanda Reid (HR, 4 RBI's), Gabrielle Poe (doubled twice), and Karli Beauchamp had two hits each. Beauchamp got the win on the mound striking out six. Game two was called due to darkness and will be played when Joliet plays at Madison. Karli Beauchamp struck out 10 batters in the contest. JJC finishes their season with a 20-29-1 overall record and an 8-7 N4C conference record.
