Wolves win season opener

The Joliet Junior College men's basketball team defeated Olivet Nazarene University JV by a score of 77-72. Deiondre Cunningham led the Wolves with 20 points followed by Zoran Aresnovic with 13 points including three 3-point shots. Todd Brown had 9 points, while Larry Moore and Justin Scanlan finished with 8 points each. Scanlan had a team-high 10 rebounds in the contest. "It is always nice to get the season started so you can judge where you are at as a team," Head Coach Joe Kuhn said. "I really liked our defensive effort against a very good Olivet team. We have a long way to which is typical for this time of year but there were a lot of team and individual positives that we demonstrated. JJC (1-0 overall) hosts Prairie State College on Tuesday, November 12, 2013. Game time is 7:00 pm.

JJC earns 2nd victory of the season

The JJC men's basketball team claimed an 81-69 victory over Prairie State College. Anthony Carroll led the way with 20 points and 5 assists. Todd Brown finished with 17 points and 10 rebounds, while Leon Gray added 15 points. Justin Scanlan added 10 points in the contest. "Overall it was a nice win for us," Head Coach Joe Kuhn said. "I thought our defensive effort was good and overall we shot the ball well. We still need to improve on both sides of the floor to adjust to the enforcement of the hand check rule." JJC (2-0 overall) hosts Lake Michigan College on Thursday, November 14, 2013. Game time is 7:00 pm.

Wolves win thriller over Lake Michigan

The Joliet Junior College men's basketball team defeated Lake Michigan College by a score of 60-58. Zoran Aresnovic had a team-high 16 points followed by Justin Scanlan and Todd Brown with 10 points each. Kylee Beheler pulled down 11 rebounds in the contest. "Our games with Lake Michigan have always been tight games and this one was no different," Head Coach Joe Kuhn said. "Last year was double overtime, the year before overtime, and this one was another thriller. We played with more passion defensively in the second half which turned the momentum to our favor. This season we play Lake Michigan twice so it will be a highly contested game when we go there." JJC (3-0 overall) hosts North Central College JV on Monday, November 18, 2013. Game time is 7:00 pm.

Joliet holds up North Central for the win

The JJC men's basketball team edged out North Central College JV by a score of 68-65. Todd Brown led the Wolves with 14 points followed by Anthony Carroll and Zoran Aresnovic with 12 points. Justin Scanlan added 11 points. Brown had a team-high 11 rebounds in the contest. "We have not yet hit our rhythm on offense and are not shooting the ball as well as we are capable of," Head Coach Joe Kuhn said. "We are learning how to win the tight games which is an important trait to have. Our effort continues to be excellent and our defense is improving." JJC (4-0 overall) travels to McHenry County College on Tuesday, November 19, 2013. Game time is 7:15 pm.

Wolves stay perfect in a win against McHenry

The Joliet Junior College men's basketball team defeated McHenry County College by a score of 86-82. Leon Gray had a season-high 24 points, 5 assists, and 5 steals. Anthony Carroll scored 17 points, while Justin Scanlan finished with 10 points. "Our defense in the second half was much better than in the first which allowed us to create a few easier scoring opportunities which was the difference," Head Coach Joe Kuhn said. "Leon Gray and Anthony Carroll were really good and Darren Hall gave us a big boost in the first half. We are still searching to develop more consistency and longer stretches of good basketball." JJC (5-0 overall) hosts Robert Morris University JV on Thursday, November 21, 2013. Game time is 7:00 pm.

Joliet earns big win over Robert Morris JV

The JJC men's basketball team defeated Robert Morris University JV by a score of 84-64. Anthony Carroll led the way with 24 points. Deiondre Cunningham had 13 points, while Justin Scanlan added 12 points. Zoran Aresnovic finished with 10 points and 11 rebounds. "Our overall game continues to improve and tonight we put together longer stretches of good basketball," Head Coach Joe Kuhn said. "We are a young team so it takes time to get everything together. I really liked how we moved the ball which helped in creating a really good shooting night." JJC (6-0 overall) hosts Kennedy-King College on Tuesday, November 26, 2013. Game time is 7:00 pm.

Wolves take charge against Kennedy-King

The Joliet Junior College men's basketball team defeated Kennedy-King College by a score of 61-52. Justin Scanlan led the way with 19 points. Zoran Aresnovic scored 13 points, while Deiondre Cunningham finished with 10 points. "This was a really nice win for us as we had two starters, Anthony Carroll and Todd Brown, out with ankle sprains," Head Coach Joe Kuhn said. "I thought our defense was outstanding and was the difference in the game." JJC (7-0 overall) travels to Morton College on Thursday, December 5, 2013. Game time is 7:00 pm.

Morton edges out Wolves for first loss of the season

The JJC men's basketball team fell to Morton College by a score of 71-65. Leon Gray led the way with 16 points followed by Justin Scanlan with 14 points and Todd Brown with 13 points. Kylee Beheler finished with a team-high 9 rebounds. "We sort of let this game get away from us with the number of turnovers we committed. I thought we missed a couple of opportunities to open up a larger lead which ended up hurting us in the end," Head Coach Joe Kuhn said. "Due to injuries we are still searching for a consistent rhythm but it was nice to get Todd Brown back in the line-up as he has missed a few games with a sprained ankle. We hope to be back to full strength next week." JJC (7-1 overall) travels to Illinois Valley Community College on Saturday, December 7, 2013. Game time is 3:00 pm.

The Joliet Junior College men's basketball team was defeated by Illinois Valley Community College by a score of 66-65. Zoran Aresnovic led the way with 14 points followed by Todd Brown with 13 points. Leon Gray finished with 11 points, while Justin Scanlan added 10 points. "We missed a number of opportunities to put this game away," Head Coach Joe Kuhn said. "We missed too many easy baskets in the paint and had a few turnovers that really hurt. We are a young team so we need to learn and get better from these games." JJC (7-2 overall) travels to Olive-Harvey College on Thursday, December 12, 2013. Game time is 7:00 pm.

The JJC men's basketball team dropped an 86-75 decision to Olive-Harvey College. Deiondre Cunningham led the Wolves with 21 points. Todd Brown and Zoran Aresnovic both scored 14 points. Justin Scanlan finished with 8 points and 10 rebounds in the contest. "I thought our effort was tremendous, but we dug too big of a hole falling behind 20-6," Head Coach Joe Kuhn said. "When we took the lead in the second half, we just couldn't make the play to keep us in front. Our focus at this point is to get healthy and back to full strength." The Joliet Junior College men's basketball team was defeated by South Suburban College by a score of 64-54. Justin Scanlan had 18 points and 11 rebounds for the Wolves. Deiondre Cunningham added 13 points. "We had great effort and we had our chances to earn the win. We couldn't convert on the offensive end when we really needed to," Head Coach Joe Kuhn said. The JJC men's basketball team defeated Purdue University-Calumet by a score of 95-72. Justin Scanlan led the way with 24 points followed by Deiondre Cunningham with 23 points. Zoran Aresnovic finished with 18 points, while Todd Brown added 13 points. Naiem Johnson produced 8 assists and 13 rebounds in the contest. "I thought we played a really good game on both ends of the floor," Head Coach Joe Kuhn said. "We should be closer to 100% by Thursday, but will still have a few nagging injuries. Our staff is proud of how the guys have really battled and hung tough in spite of the number of guys being out." The Joliet Junior College men's basketball team was defeated by Moraine Valley Community College by a score of 72-71. Deiondre Cunningham scored 20 points, while Leon Gray finished with 18 points. The JJC men's basketball team lost a tough match-up to Lake Michigan College by a score of 62-61. Deiondre Cunningham had 15 points followed by Leon Gray with 14 points. Zoran Aresnovic scored 12 points, while Justin Scanlan added 10 points in the contest. "This was another tough game for us," Head Coach Joe Kuhn said. The Joliet Junior College men's basketball team defeated Olivet Nazarene University JV by a score of 61-59. Leon Gray led the way with 14 points followed by Deiondre Cunningham with 13 points. Todd Brown added 11 points in the contest. "It was nice to get the win as we were struggling before the break with the injuries and players in and out of the line up," Head Coach Joe Kuhn said. "We played short handed again tonight only playing seven which is tough after the lay off we had. We gutted it out and we were able to make the plays down the stretch which was nice for our guys." The Joliet Junior College men's basketball team defeated N4C conference opponent Harper College by a score of 72-56. Deiondre Cunningham led the way with 19 points including three 3-point shots. Leon Gray had 12 points, Justin Scanlan with 11, and Zoran Aresnovic with 10 points. "It is always nice to start out the conference with a win and defend your home court," Head Coach Joe Kuhn said. "Harper has a nice offensive team and I thought we made it difficult for them. Offensively, I really liked how we moved the ball and attacked off of the dribble. The JJC men's basketball team defeated N4C conference opponent Madison College by a score of 73-59. Leon Gray led the Wolves with 22 points. Justin Scanlan earned a double-double with 14 points and 10 rebounds. Zoran Aresnovic added 11 points in the contest. "It took us awhile to get going but I thought our defense took control of the game and finally our offense got going in the second half," Head Coach Joe Kuhn said. The Joliet Junior College men's basketball team defeated N4C conference opponent Triton College by a score of 80-76. Leon Gray led the Wolves with a team-high 26 points. Larry Moore had 13 points, while Zoran Aresnovic added 12 points. Todd Brown finished with 10 points. "This was a really hard earned win for us and a typical JJC/Triton game," Head Coach Joe Kuhn said. "It is never easy to win at Triton and I thought our guys really battled well. We were able to get four guys in double figures and had really nice contributions from a number of guys. At crunch time we were able to make the defensive plays which led to a few easy baskets. The Joliet Junior College men's basketball team earned a 69-60 victory over N4C conference opponent Wilbur Wright College. Justin Scanlan led the Wolves with 21 points followed by Deiondre Cunningham with 16 points and 10 rebounds. Zoran Aresnovic scored 12 points, while Larry Moore finished with 9. "I love how we came out and took control of the game early but we sort of coasted the rest of the way," Head Coach Joe Kuhn said. "We have put ourselves in a nice position early in the conference race but we will need to bring our best effort of the year this weekend." The JJC men's basketball team fell to N4C conference opponent Rock Valley College by a score of 88-81. Deiondre Cunningham had a team-high 26 points followed by Zoran Aresnovic with 21 points. Larry Moore added 12 points in the contest. "This was a great game between two good teams," Head Coach Joe Kuhn said. "We had our chances to take control of the game, but Rock Valley made some key shots down the stretch and that was the difference. The Joliet Junior College men's basketball team defeated N4C conference opponent College of DuPage by a score of 77-69. Deiondre Cunningham scored 22 points to lead the Wolves. Larry Moore had 12 points, while Todd Brown added 11 points. Justin Scanlan was just shy of a double-double with 9 points and 10 rebounds. "It is nice to end the first round of conference play with a road win," Head Coach Joe Kuhn said. "We dug ourselves a hole in each half but I liked how we battled out of it. The JJC men's basketball team fell to N4C conference opponent Harper College by a score of 100-75. Deiondre Cunningham had 16 points, while Zoran Aresnovic scored 15 points. Todd Brown added 14, as Leon Gray finished with 12 points. "We were not ready to play on the defensive end and Harper shot lights out which is evident by their 13-of-25 shooting from 3," Head Coach Joe Kuhn said. "Harper has a number of players that shoot it really well and you can't give them good looks which we did. We have to shake this one off and come back strong on Wednesday." The JJC men's basketball team defeated N4C conference opponent Triton College by a score of 80-72. Deiondre Cunningham led the Wolves with 28 points. Zoran Aresnovic earned a solid double-double with 20 points and 12 rebounds, while Larry Moore added 8 assists in the contest. "This was a big win for us as we were able to pull it out and protect our home floor," Head Coach Joe Kuhn said. "After falling behind 12-2, I thought our defense and rebounding picked up and we made timely shots. Also, when you shoot 30-35 from the line it is a huge lift." Larry Moore added 9 points in the contest. "We didn't play with an edge defensively and Milwaukee was pretty much able to do whatever they wanted," Head Coach Joe Kuhn said. The JJC men's basketball team was defeated by N4C conference opponent Wilbur Wright College by a score of 77-74. Ricky Carter had a career-high 25 points including four 3-point shots. Deiondre Cunningham scored 18 points, while Zoran Aresnovic added 10 points in the contest. "I thought we were going to pull this game out after our slow start but I think we ran out of gas near the end," Head Coach Joe Kuhn said. The Joliet Junior College men's basketball team defeated #4 ranked Rock Valley College by a score of 74-65. Justin Scanlan led the Wolves with 21 points, while Zoran Aresnovic scored 17 points and Deiondre Cunningham had 15 points. "This was an excellent win for us tonight," Head Coach Joe Kuhn said. "Our guys really battled back from a tough week and played a great game. I thought our defense was good and we had a 15-0 run in the second half to take control of the game." JJC (19-10 overall, 9-4 N4C) hosts N4C conference opponent College of DuPage on Saturday, February 22, 2014. Game time is 7:00 pm.

Joliet stays perfect at home

The JJC men's basketball team defeated N4C conference opponent College of DuPage by a score of 74-63. The Wolves finished a perfect 15-0 at home to run their home win streak to 22 games. Leon Gray led the charge with 20 points followed by Zoran Aresnovic with 16 points. Deiondre Cunningham had 13 points, while Justin Scanlan added 12 points in the contest. "This was a really nice way to end the regular season," Head Coach Joe Kuhn said. "Our defense was good and we moved the ball well ending up with 20 assists and four players in double figures. Playoffs are here so a new seasons begins. We have to play our best games now." JJC (20-10 overall, 10-4 N4C) plays in the Region IV semi-final on Friday, February 28, 2014. Game time is 7:00 pm at tournament host College of DuPage.

Wolves top Harper in Region IV semi-final

The Joliet Junior College men's basketball team defeated Harper College in the Region IV semi-final game by a score of 70-65. Deiondre Cunningham led the charge with 24 points and 11 rebounds. Zoran Aresnovic added 14 points in the contest. "This was a great win for us," Head Coach Joe Kuhn said. "We will have to keep up the same intensity for tomorrow's championship game." JJC (21-10 overall) takes on Rock Valley College in the Region IV championship game on Saturday, March 1, 2014. Game time is 3:00 pm at tournament host College of DuPage.

JJC falls to Rock Valley in Region IV Championship

The JJC men's basketball team lost a heartbreaker to Rock Valley College in the Region IV Championship by a score of 72-70. Justin Scanlan led the Wolves with 15 points followed by Zoran Aresnovic with 13 and Deiondre Cunningham with 11 points. "Rebounding was the difference, especially when you get down to a one-possession game," Head Coach Joe Kuhn said. "It's a game of runs and nobody was going to quit. It was a good year overall. For a lot of these guys, playing in this game and getting to this point in the season is absolutely going to help. A new season for us starts tomorrow." JJC ends their season with a 21-11 overall record and a 10-4 N4C conference record.
