Wolves win home opener
The Joliet Junior College football team defeated Arkansas Baptist College by a score of 37-20 in a non-conference match up.
Running back Cardale Brown led the offense with two touchdowns, followed by Jordan Jarrell and Alonzo Bellamy with one rushing touchdown each. Quarterback Darren Jones connected with receiver Korey Jackson for a 17-yard score. Joe Pergolizzi was good on a 27-yard field goal and four extra point after touchdowns.
Sophomore Blake Rogers led the defense with seven tackles, while Jarvis Smith finished with six tackles. Taylor Perez chalked You cannot have that many turnovers and expect to win a football game, especially against a team the caliber of Grand Rapids,” JJC coach Jeremy Richardson. “They’re a fine team, but we shot ourselves in the foot so many times.”up one sack for the Wolves and totaled four tackles. "We have a lot of freshman on our squad this year," Head Coach Jeremy Richardson said. "They are getting their feet wet and learning, which is great. It's always fun to watch them play."

Wolves fall to North Dakota State College of Science
The JJC football team dropped a 40-26 decision to North Dakota State College of Science in the Midwest Football Conference (MFC) opener.
Offensively, quarterback Alonzo Bellamy had a 25-yard run the first quarter for the Wolves. JJC recorded a safety in the second quarter, as quarterback Darren Jones scored on a 1-yard rush. In the fourth, a Jones pass to Joshua Butts was good for a touchdown. Kicker Joe Pergolizzi was good on a field goal and three point after touchdowns.
Tyrell Webster and Brandon Dixon led the defense with four solo tackles each. Webster recorded two sacks, as Craig Drummond, Austin Copley, and Blake Rogers all had one sack. Bilal Davis picked up one interception for the Wolves.
"We will need to cut down on a lot of our mistakes that we made today for next week's game," Head Coach Jeremy Richardson said.

Penalties hurt Wolves in loss to Iowa Western
The Joliet Junior College football team was defeated by Midwest Football Conference (MFC) opponent Iowa Western Community College by a score of 27-6.
With 8:49 left to go in the 2nd quarter, an Alonzo Bellamy pass to Jawyne Thomas led to a 38-yard touchdown for the lone Wolves score of the day. Thomas led the Wolves with two catches for 45 total yards. Darren Jones rushed for 106 yards on 10 carries.
Jarvis Smith led the defense with seven solo tackles for JJC. Brandon Dixon recorded four tackles, while Craig Drummond, James Roland, and Blake Rogers all had three solo tackles each. Drummond also recorded a sack for a loss of 10 yards.
"Today, this was another case of us showing our youth," Head Coach Jeremy Richardson said. "We have three issues that we need to address. They are team discipline, too many penalties, and the way we have been practicing."
The Wolves had nine penalties for 85 yards and three interceptions on the day.
"This is the second week in a row in which we were hurt badly from penalties," Richardson stated. "But once again, these can be corrected. We're going to fix it and get ready for Ellsworth."

Ellsworth tops Joliet in rain-soaked game
The JJC football team was defeated by Midwest Football Conference (MFC) opponent Ellsworth Community College by a score of 38-6.
At 7:00 left in the second quarter, Jordan Jarrell ran for 9 yards for the only Wolves score of the day. Jarrell led all rushers with 75 yards. Quarterback Alonzo Bellamy was 4-of-7 for 99 yards.
Jarvis Smith had 8 tackles (5 solo) for the Wolves. Blake Rogers finished with 5 tackles (2 solo) as James Roland earned 3 solo tackles. Taylor Perez and T.J. Jackson had one sack each. Brandon Dixon added one interception.
"You can't fall behind 21-0 on the road in the first quarter to a team the caliber of an Ellsworth and not have it hurt," Head Coach Jeremy Richardson said. "It was a big hole and we weren't able to dig ourselves out of it."

Iowa Central edges out Wolves
The Joliet Junior College football team was defeated by Midwest Football Conference (MFC) opponent Iowa Central Community College by a score of 32-21.
With 3:10 left in the first, an Alonzo Bellamy pass to Exzaybion Jackson was good for a 14 yard score. The Wolves would score again as Darren Jones had a 37-yard run at 3:59 left in the second quarter. It was Jones again with 6:02 left in the fourth on a 1-yard run for the Wolves final score. Korey Jackson totaled 127 yards on seven receptions for JJC.
T.J. Jackson led the defense with 9 tackles (3 solo), followed by Austin Copley with 8 tackles (3 solo). Copley recorded 2 sacks, as Tyrell Webster and James Roland both earned one sack each.
"Iowa Central was more ready to play tonight than we were," Head Coach Jeremy Richardson said. "We need to get both sides of the ball on the same page."

Wolves get victory over North Park
The JJC football team defeated non-conference opponent North Park University JV by a score of 21-14.
In the second quarter, Exzaybion Jackson caught a 6-yard pass from Alonzo Bellamy to make it a 7-0 score. Jordan Jarrell scored on a 5-yard run in the third, as Korey Jackson caught a 65 yard pass from Bellamy in the fourth quarter for the Wolves final score.
T.J. Jackson, Jatavious Miller, and Jarvis Smith led the defense with 7 tackles each. Blake Rogers finished with 6 tackles, as Taylor Perez had 5 tackles. Brandon Dixon and Jarrell Dillard had one interception each.
"We needed to taste a victory again and the guys did that," Head Coach Jeremy Richardson said. "We trailed at the half, but came out strong in the second half and were able to finish strong."

Grand Rapids too much for Wolves
The Joliet Junior College football team was defeated by MFC conference opponent Grand Rapids Community College by a score of 65-9.
In the third quarter, Vanalari Hope caught a 32-yard pass from Alonzo Bellamy for a JJC score. Tim Eulitz was good on the PAT kick. Craig Drummond recorded a safety to round out the Wolves scoring.
Blake Rogers and Jatavious Miller both earned 10 tackles on the defensive side of the ball. Jarvis Smith finished with 9 tackles. Smith and Antwan Williams both had one interception each.

Wolves fall to Harper Hawks
The JJC football team was defeated by Midwest Football Conference (MFC) opponent Harper College by a score of 26-10.
Tim Eulitz put the Wolves on the board with a 30-yard field goal in the 2nd quarter. An Alonzo Bellamy 42-yard pass to Korey Jackson was also good for a JJC score late in the second quarter. Eulitz was good on the PAT kick. Jackson totaled 104 yards on four receptions.
Blake Rogers finished with 7 tackles, while James Roland and Kerry Guest both had 6 tackles each. Jarvis Smith, Antwan Williams, and Tyrell Webster all earned 5 tackles. Brandon Davis recorded a sack and two tackles for loss.
"We have to do a better job in the middle of the field defensively," Head Coach Jeremy Richardson said.

DuPage tops Wolves in MFC Contest
The Joliet Junior College football team fell to Midwest Football Conference (MFC) opponent College of DuPage by as score of 20-9.
Antwan Williams returned a blocked DuPage extra point by T.J. Jackson for two points. Exzaybion Jackson scored a Wolves touchdown on a hand off 3-yard carry in the fourth quarter. Tim Eulitz was good on the PAT kick.
Blake Rogers earned 7 tackles, as Jarvis Smith and Tyrell Webster had 4 tackles each. T.J. Jackson had two sacks for a total loss of 15 yards.
“There were a few positives even in the loss,” Head Coach Jeremy Richardson said. “We showed no quit and the guys kept playing hard."
JJC (2-7 overall, 0-7 MFC) travels to Grand Rapids Community College on Saturday, October 30, 2010 to face the Raiders in the first round of the Midwest Football Conference East Division Playoffs. Game time is 1:00 pm EST.

Wolves fall to Grand Rapids in Playoffs
The JJC football team was defeated by Grand Rapids Community College by a score of 24-10 in the first round of the Midwest Football Conference (MFC) East Division playoffs.
Kevin Starke scored on a 13-yard run late in the first quarter. Tim Eulitz was good on the PAT kick. With 0:10 left in the second quarter, Eulitz kicked a 22 yard field goal to complete the Wolves scoring.
On the defensive side, Blake Rogers totaled 14 tackles, as Jatavious Miller and Jarvis Smith both finished with 13 tackles. Craig Drummond had 9 tackles, while Brandon Dixon and Taylor Perez had 8 tackles each. Dixon also recorded an interception for Joliet.
"I thought our guys played well today," JJC Head Coach Jeremy Richardson said. "We gave it our best shot."
JJC finishes out their season with a 2-8 overall record and a 0-7 Midwest Football Conference record.
NOTE: Due to an ineligible player, JJC has forfeited all wins from the 2010 season.
