Arranging Services and Accommodations

If you qualify for Star, there are a few things that you are required to do to arrange services.

1. Contact Star at Joliet Junior College and apply for services
2. Provide documentation of your disability.
3. Request accommodations as soon as possible - preferably at least six (6) weeks before the first day of classes.
4. Specialized accommodations such as taped textbooks, large print textbooks or a sign language interpreter must be requested in advance to allow Star a reasonable time period to arrange services. (NOTE: Sometimes advanced notice of more than 6 to 8 weeks is necessary in order to provide some accommodations!)
5. You must notify Star if you no longer wish to utilize a particular accommodation.
