Nicole Disabato

Hi, my name is Nicole Disabato and I am a teacher assistant at the Early Childhood Center. I live in Elwood, IL, with my Aunt and Uncle. I use to live in Joliet, with my parents until after my senior year of High School, when they moved to Indiana. We have always had a summer place on Lake Shaffer, where Indiana Beach is at, and that is where they live now.

After my parents moved, I lived with my sister until summer 2009 when she moved to Tennessee and that is when I moved in with my Aunt and Uncle. This is my second classroom experience with children. My first was last semester when I was an Intern for the Early Childhood Center. Besides that, I have babysat from 1 child to 5 children at a time for over ten years now. I just started pursuing Early Childhood Education in 2009. I wasn’t sure what I wanted to do with my life at first, then I realized that I love working with my little cousins, from school work to playing school at home and any questions in-between, I like helping and being there for them, in any way that I can.

When I am not at school or work, I try my hardest to spend time with my cousins, they are my pride and I love being with them as much as I can. I also like going shopping, out to eat, to the movies, and miniature golfing. During the summer, my little cousin’s baseball games are number one on my list. What I like most about working with young children is being able to watch them grow in their unique ways. Children have the most creative minds and one-of-a-kind personalities, and being able to be there for them and guide them in the right direction is the most rewarding feeling ever.
