Hello My Name Is Evelyn White. I am originally from Chicago, and currently reside in Ottawa Illinois. I am a proud mother of four children 16, 13, 10, and a 5 year old, that’s three girls and one boy. I have worked with children in preschool settings for about ten years. I have been studying Early Childhood Education since 1993. I obtained an Associates Degree in Child Development from Richard Daley College in Chicago in 2002.
I continued my education journey at Kendall College receiving a Bachelors of Arts in Early Childhood Education. I have returned to school to continue working on a type 04 certification, and work on my Masters Degree in k-8 education. I am also in the process of finalizing an Early Intervention Developmental Therapist Credential, working with children birth to age 2.5. My hobbies are attending my childrens sports events and working with youths during my spare time. What I like most about working with young children is having the chance to interact with children introducing appropriate early learning strategies and activities that fosters early learning skills. I like to model appropriate social learning skills and prepare activities that will enhance social learning and cognitive development skills. I also enjoy providing safe and nurturing environments for children so that parents can feel safe knowing and understanding their child is in a safe environment. I have worked with children in preschool, headstart and summer youth programs. I am currently the Youth Director at Calvary Baptist Church in Ottawa, Illinois. I continue to strive to become the best Early Childhood Professional in this field. I believe it is important to continue practicing and researching to remain informed of the changes in the field of early childhood. My personal philosophy is, every child learns through positive interaction at an early age. Children's physiological needs should be met in order for learning to be possible.
