The Academic Skills Center offers tutoring in three main areas: ACT COMPASS Placement Testing preparation, Academic Skills workshops, and content-area tutoring. To schedule an appointment or receive extra credit for attending, please read below.
Receiving Extra Credit for Tutoring
If your instructor offers extra credit for attending tutoring sessions, please follow the steps below to have your tutoring attendance information emailed to your instructor:

Using your
JJC email account, email the ASC Secretary, Leslie Kolesar, at
lkolesar@jjc.edu the following information:
- Your first and last name
- Your JJC ID #
- Your birth date
- Your instructor's first and last name
- Your instructor's JJC email address

Within two business days, Leslie will email your tutoring attendance information to both you and your instructor.

Steps to Schedule a Tutoring Appointment
- Call (815) 280-2261 or (815) 280-6667 to schedule your appointment; please note that this free service is available only for JJC students.
- Arrive at the session 5-10 minutes early with your JJC photo ID.
