Multicultural Student Affairs
The OMSA provides academic and personal support, as well as social and cultural
resources to enhance the educational experience of minority students at Joliet Junior
College. By using a student-centered approach, OMSA offers leadership development
opportunities, cultural enrichment programs and resources to facilitate the academic
and personal growth of minority students.
We extend a personal invitation to you to visit the OMSA to become acquainted with
the staff and to take advantage of the many resources and services we offer.
Events
Core Initiatives
- Serving as an advocate for minority students.
- Collaborating with faculty, staff, and students regarding minority student trends.
- Engaging the JJC community in creating a diverse, culturally inclusive environment.
- Partnering with College departments, District 525 schools, community agencies, and churches to
promote recruitment and retention efforts at JJC.
- Coordinating opportunities for JJC students to partner with the business community to promote
professional growth.
- Promoting a successful transition from high school or previous educational institution for
entering/transfer students.
