What is the Student Wellness Council?

  • Students who promote wellness on campus through peer education and programming.
  • A student lead group who assists the wellness coordinator in selecting programs pertinent to students.
  • A group of students interested in personal health.
  • Students who want to meet others.
  • Students who want to make a difference and get involved.

What does the Student Wellness Council do?

  • Two yearly fundraisers, including Hugs-N-Kisses Bouquets.
  • Provides stress relief day for JJC students near mid-terms and finals.
  • Sponsors alcohol awareness activities.
  • Sponsors various themed activities throughout the year:
    • Stress Relief Days (Midterm and Finals)
    • National Collegiate Alcohol Awareness Week (October)
    • Alcohol Awareness Week (December)
    • Hugs and Kisses Fundraiser (February)
    • Sexual Responsibility Week (February)
    • Eating Disorders Awareness Week (Feb/March)
    • Nutrition Month (March)
    • Alcohol Awareness Month/ Wellness Week (April)
    • And more as the group determines!

When does the Student Wellness Council meet?

The first and third Thursday of every month during the Fall and Spring Semester at 12:30pm in the Office of Student Activities.
