What is the Student Wellness Council?
- Students who promote wellness on campus through peer education and programming.
- A student lead group who assists the wellness coordinator in selecting programs
pertinent to students.
- A group of students interested in personal health.
- Students who want to meet others.
- Students who want to make a difference and get involved.
What does the Student Wellness Council do?
- Two yearly fundraisers, including Hugs-N-Kisses Bouquets.
- Provides stress relief day for JJC students near mid-terms and finals.
- Sponsors alcohol awareness activities.
- Sponsors various themed activities throughout the year:
- Stress Relief Days (Midterm and Finals)
- National Collegiate Alcohol Awareness Week (October)
- Alcohol Awareness Week (December)
- Hugs and Kisses Fundraiser (February)
- Sexual Responsibility Week (February)
- Eating Disorders Awareness Week (Feb/March)
- Nutrition Month (March)
- Alcohol Awareness Month/ Wellness Week (April)
- And more as the group determines!
When does the Student Wellness Council meet?
The first and third Thursday of every month during the Fall and Spring Semester
at 12:30pm in the Office of Student Activities.
