Apply for Aid: FAFSA

Complete the 2008-2009 Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) online or renewal FAFSA (for students who have applied in previous year) at www.fafsa.ed.gov by May 1, 2008, JJC's priority date. 2007 financial information is required to fill out FAFSA (W2s, Federal 1040s).

When you apply for your FAFSA you will prompted to apply for a pin, and it will be assigned to you immediately. Be sure to keep this for your records, as you will need this every year you apply for FAFSA. JJC's Federal (Title IV) School Code: 001699.

Read the Financial Aid Standards of Progress and Policies

The following documents should be read before taking the Online Standards of Progress quiz.

• Standards of Progress Policy. These are standards students must maintain in order to be eligible to receive and maintain financial assistance.
• Title IV Refund Policy. Know your responsibilities in the event of withdrawing from JJC after receiving financial aid.
• Financial Aid Glossary. Knowing the terms used makes applying for financial aid much easier.

Please take your time and feel free to print out the above web pages for your use. We recommend that you print the documents before you begin the quiz. Our intention is not to have trick questions or answers on the quiz, but to have obvious answers available to you.

In an effort to help students understand the Financial Aid Standards of Progress Policy, we have developed an online quiz. After you review the quiz documents and complete the quiz, we hope that you will have a clear concept of what the policy is. The quiz must be passed in order to complete your financial aid file.

Financial Aid Rights and Responsibilities

Fill out the Financial Aid Rights and Responsibilities form and return to the Financial Aid Office.

Identification

All students must supply a copy of their drivers license or state ID to the Financial Aid Office.

Additionally, investigate and apply for scholarships. See the scholarships page for more information. Most scholarship deadline dates are before April 1, 2008.
