Graduation FAQ

Commencement Ceremony at JJC

When will I learn the status of my graduation application?

In approximately six to eight weeks you will receive a letter from the Graduation Office noting any deficiencies.

Who do I see if I have questions about the evaluation of my records for a degree or certificate?

Make an appointment to discuss the matter with the Vice President for Academic Affairs, located on the second floor of J-Building.

Do I need to contact the Graduation Office regarding any courses I add or drop after receiving the Registrar tentative approval letter?

Yes, as failure to do so may result in non-approval for graduation and delays in processing.

Do I have to participate in the graduation ceremony in December or May?

No, although participation is encouraged, it is not required.

Is there a cost for participation in the graduation ceremony?

Yes, there is a nominal fee for the cap and gown.

If I have not been approved or not completed deficiencies for the current graduation date, do I have to reapply for the next graduation date?

Yes, you must file another application with the Graduation Office.
