Academics
JJC offers a wide range of degrees and certificates for students studying in an occupational field
and wanting to obtain a job in their field of choice in two years or less. Those students
who wish to continue their education at a four-year institution will find they can complete the
first two years of coursework and save a substantial amount of money. Studies have shown that
JJC students typically do as well as or better than students who spend their first two years
at a four-year college or university.
Joliet Junior College has a strong commitment to providing students with a quality, accessible
and affordable teaching and learning environment. Strong academic programs are supported by quality
faculty members. Over 80 percent of JJC professors have a master's degree or higher, and all JJC
classes are taught by instructors not by teaching assistants.
