Student Development
Intramurals - Will be piloting activities this spring for sports and student activities.
Monies have already been appropriated for this program.
Outcome - Information
Administrative Services
HR director search - 80 applications received for the human resources director
position. Committee member list reviewed. First meeting to take place on January
7 with the intent of moving position forward for approval to Board at the February
meeting.
Outcome - Information
All managers workshop date - January 31st is the meeting date. Mandatory meeting
will run from 9 a.m. to noon for supervisors. This does not include faculty, but
faculty that manage support staff may want to attend
Outcome - Information
New HR procedure - Currently being worked on and should be ready the second week of
January.
Outcome - Procedure will be brought back to SLT for review when
complete.
Financial Adviser Update - Three firms will be invited to JJC to make presentations
and all Board members will be invited to attend.
Outcome - Will update SLT after meetings occur.
LSTS
Web accessibility - Discussion on methods available for accessible prerecorded videos
Outcome - VP of LSTS will consult with STAR on costs of having
a signer present at Board meetings. Review findings with SLT at a future meeting.
Academic Affairs
Deans' Offices - Location of offices need to be determined. Construction is behind
on Cyber Cafe location and the expected date of completion looks to be in April.
Outcome - VP academic affairs and VP student services will look
at old graduation office space. Review costs of renovations.
Afternoon classes - Scheduling of classes in afternoon will be increasing with 206
course offerings which cover most areas from the 1 to 4 p.m. time frame with 80
full time faculty and five department chairs teaching classes. From the 2 to 5 p.m.
time frame, Currently looking at software that can create a master schedule. Proposal
from software company should be coming after holidays. Follow up visit to John Marshall
Law School by VP academic affairs to observe their use of Astra scheduling software
will occur in the next few weeks.
Outcome - Review proposal and costs with SLT when received.
