P&PD - Discussion of final program. Chair Wunderlich will give welcome; president will give JJC state of the union; each vp will briefly highlight their areas; vp academic affairs will introduce Glen Mazur who will introduce the O & P faculty that will present information on the new program.

Academic Affairs

Dean of Arts and Science Search Update - Six candidates recommended for interviewing; three from Illinois and three out of state. These candidates will be interviewed in January.
Outcome - Information

Dean’s Office Space - Discussion on office space needed for deans. Cyber café remodeling will begin soon, but will still need the space in the second floor administrative offices until office space is found. There may be space available where old graduation office was located.
Outcome - VP Institutional Advancement and Research and VP Business Services will look into the space issue further

NISOD - The conference for NISOD will be in Austin, Texas on May 25-28, 2008. JJC may want to participate in this conference next year.
Outcome - Information

ICCTA Awards - R. Munch would like to recommend Berta Arias for an award under this program. Faculty may already have a committee put together for faculty recommendation.
Outcome - VP academic affairs will contact faculty union president on this matter.

Chambers of Commerce - Review of Chambers of Commerce and representatives for these chambers to assure coverage at as many meetings as possible.
Outcome - VP academic affairs will work with VP Institutional Advancement and Research for coordination of events. Chamber dues will be paid out of the CED budget

Student Development

I Grades - Academic committee recommending changes to the current policy. Would like to permit eight weeks for completion of incompletes rather than the current three weeks. The incomplete would not be factored into the GPA until after the grade is earned.
Outcome - VP academic affairs will talk with faculty union president. VP LSTS will talk to O. Stuckmaier; and VP student development will check on athletic eligibility.

Everybody Emails - This project was talked about some time ago, but was never completed due to staffing changes. Project will be reviewed in the near future.
Outcome - Email to be sent to CLT by VP Institutional Advancement and Research advising them that SLT will be further discussing the everybody email project.

BOT Videos and Accessibility - Discussion on the streaming of the BOT videos being in violation of ADA.
Outcome - VP LSTS will look into scrolling (closed captioning) on the videos and report back to SLT on findings.

Paying Student Trustees and Student Government Officers - SLT discussed offering a tuition waiver to our student trustee and the president and vice president of student government. SLT would like additional information on the proposal.
Outcome - VP student development will put together a specific proposal and will check with other community colleges to see what they do for their student trustee and student government officers on this issue

Institutional Advancement & Research

AQIP Budgeting - Appears as if there are not enough monies in the AQIP budget for the activities needed for this program. It is unclear how this was handled in the past.
Outcome - The new initiative form should be used when planning for the budget next year.

Strategic Plan - Reviewed activities and timelines for plan. The plan is running close to schedule and the input received by the college community has been most helpful.
Outcome - Provide feedback to VP Institutional Advancement and Research ASAP

Administrative Services
