Colleague Release 18 update - Mr. Stuckmaier updated SLT on the process to be taken
for the Release 18 update beginning at noon on Friday until Tuesday Oct. 9 at 7:30
a.m.
Outcome - Informational
CED surplus - Mr. Price reviewed the surplus funds of CED with SLT
Outcome - Mr. Price will use funds as discussed and will include
requests in budget planning for FY09
Administrative Services
Board Policies - Board Polices on facilities usage and free speech zones being updated
Outcome - Polices will be brought to SLT for review
Business Services Personnel - Update on business services area. Request two part-time
positions be combined into one full-time position
Outcome - Combine the two part-time positions into one full time
position and bring to Nov. Board meeting for approval
Master Plan Marketing Final Draft - Plan to be distributed to SLT members
Outcome - Discussion at SLT meeting
Dean’s offices - Space needed for arts and sciences dean and administrative assistant
and dean of student success
Outcome - VP administrative services, VP academic affairs and VP
student development to discuss further
Smoking Survey - Review of smoking survey
Outcome - Smoking survey will be moved forward with changes discussed
Domestic Partnership Benefits - Insurance committee recommended that JJC provide
health benefits to same sex partners. Benefits will model the state of Illinois
plan.
Outcome - Recommendations presented at Oct. Board workshop
Diversity Forum - Will be ready for first week in November

Search Committees - Committees in place for dean of enrollment management and dean
of students; will be meeting soon

Personnel Matter - Meeting to discuss discipline to proper individual
Outcome - VP academic affairs to send letter to chair advising
of responsibilities
Additional storage space for auction - out of space for auction items.
Outcome - VP administrative services to check into possible use
of the Weitendorf property
Academic Affairs
Advisory Committee Update - Advisory committee meeting and dinner this evening with
170 individuals in attendance.
Outcome - Suggestion: Next year, hold a reception for the advisory
committee meeting prior to board meeting or board workshop
Deans' search update - Will attempt to conclude interviews in November and bring
forward for approval at Jan. or Feb. 2008 Board meeting
Outcome - Aim for January Board meeting for approval
Student Development
Update on department positions - dean of students and dean of enrollment management
positions are posted with a close date of October 26th.
Outcome - Hiring recommendation to Board for approval at January
meeting
Administrative assistant position received over 90 applications.
Outcome - Interviewing will begin ASAP
Update on student issues - Several student issues being dealt with at current time
and investigation underway. Hearing dates are set with the same judicial individuals
from prior meeting.

Webinar on responding to troubled and at-risk students - In TV studio on Oct. 9
