“When I first came to Juco, I had no idea what to expect. I had heard an amalgam of opinions, from a variety of people, telling me that JJC had nothing special to offer! Nevertheless, I decided to try it out and see how I liked it. I have to say I was really excited to start in the Honors Program because it sounded like it was going to be a lot of fun! During my two years in the Joliet Junior College Honors Program, I had some of the most amazing experiences of my life! I made new friends, explored new activities in and around campus, and was introduced to my future career path – Public Relations. I would have never thought one program could provide all this! During my last year at JJC, I was privileged enough to be chosen to go to the National Collegiate Honors Conference in Denver, Colorado, where we got to experience what “honors” is all about! The trip was amazing, in more ways than one, and was truly a once in a lifetime opportunity! Even though I am now at Columbia College in Chicago, I will never forget the fantastic times I had in the Joliet Junior College Honors Program! I can’t help but look back and laugh at all those people who said Juco had nothing to offer. Apparently they were just looking in the wrong places!”
