I. First time college and current JJC students
who haven't taken a math course |
| |
| First time college students (students who never attended a University or College prior to attending JJC) must take the math placement test. In the past, the placement test given to students was the ASSET test. The ASSET test is no longer administered. The Joliet Junior College Math department’s current math placement test is the COMPASS test by ACT. Your math course placement is based on your COMPASS math test scores. These scores assist the Math department in placing you in class in which you have the greatest chance of being successful. It is important to take testing seriously as once a student enrolls in a math class, the COMPASS test cannot be retaken as per department policy. |
