The Division of Adult and Family Services offers Career and Vocational
counseling for students interested in expanding their education while entering a career path.
Students are given the opportunity to identify their skills, values and interests using a
variety of academic and vocational assessment tools. Once skills and interests are identified, our highly trained staff will match the student’s
results and preference to occupations linked to their highest scores. Students will also be able to research detailed description s of 500
occupations. If desired students can learn how to start and run their own business, or gain valuable job search skills like resume writing and
interview tips. Our staff will also guide students to explore different majors, courses and training programs. Assistance with financial aid will
also be provided.
Upon completion of our career assessment, the student will be given an opportunity
choose a career path, enroll in classes and enjoy the many support services provided by DAFS throughout his or her journey.
Students enrolled in GED, High School Diploma, and/or advanced ESL classes/ programs are also encouraged to participate
in career/ vocational training programs. Tuition, fees and textbooks are provided through the Division of Adult and Family Services to those who
