New Student Orientation

New Student Orientations for SPRING 2016 term will begin on Monday, November 2, 2015.

The New Student video and schedule will be available on Monday, October 26, 2015.

New students seeking full time (12 or more) credit hours for Spring 2016 semester are required to attend NSO. Students seeking a part time (11 or fewer) credit hours are strongly encouraged to attend NSO.

Parents and supporters are welcome to attend the informational session at the beginning of the orientation. Orientations are available at the Main and Romeoville campuses.

You are ready to attend New Student Orientation if you have completed the following steps.

Step #1: Completed the new student steps.

  • Attention Dual Credit Students:
Currently enrolled dual credit students planning to attend JJC on a full or part-time basis after high school are required to submit a new online application and select "traditional student". (Completing the new application will change their status from dual credit to their proper program of study while attending Joliet Junior College.) It is required that dual credit students attend a New Student Orientation session in order to receive critical information about college programs, services, and resources that will support student success:
  • Attention Student Athletes:
New Student Athletes are those students that have already signed their letter of intent with the Athletic Department. If you have questions regarding your status as JJC Student-Athlete contact Stephanie Kneip, (815) 280-2431. Student-Athletes will have access to New Student Orientation dates for student-athletes only. Student-Athletes must attend one New Student Orientation. There are three NSO's scheduled for student-athletes. Follow the prompt on Step #3 for Student-Athlete New Student Orientations.

Step #2: Obtained your JJC username and password. Student must have their JJC username and password with them the day of orientation.

Step #3: Viewed the online new student presentation. This will be available for spring 2016 NSO's on Monday, October 26, 2015. (Be aware the video will take a few moments to load.) You will choose an orientation date, time and location at the end of the video.
