About Career Seekers

Career Seekers is a program that provides academic and employment assistance to out-of-school youth. We provide members with assistance in achieving academic and employment success through skill-building activities, effective connections with employers, and on-going support. Our members develop leadership skills, learn how to make good decisions and grow as citizens.

Membership is open to youth aged 16-21 who meet federal requirements and Career Seekers eligibility standards. Career Seekers members will be involved in the following activities:

  • Opportunities for work experience
  • Job shadowing and employment opportunities
  • Career decision-making activities
  • Assessment of skills, interests, abilities and aptitudes
  • Self-awareness exercises
  • Basic life skills activities
  • Connections with local employers
  • Career leadership sessions which develop the "soft skills" that employers demand
  • Help in successfully completing high school or GED studies
  • Group and Individual instruction to develop academic and occupational skills
  • Comprehensive guidance and support from our staff
