Classroom Entrepreneurs (LLC 4287)
Inspire students to explore the world of entrepreneurship. In this class you will participate in activities to take back to the classroom.  Begin with a business idea, explore a variety of business options and create a business plan for the idea you choose.  Learn how to develop your ideas, organize your facts, market your product/service, and potentially make a profit.  You will use a variety of micro-soft office software, the internet, basic accounting tools, and other creative arts materials as needed.  At the end of this course you will have a basic business plan that you can present with visual aides; ready to find investors! CPDU's: Class will include Illinois state learning standards covered in this activity, itemized learning styles & multiple inelegances the activities appeal to, and possible modification and accommodations that can be made to suit a group for students with varied skill.

Chicago Authors (LLC 4288) 
Explore the literature of Chicago Authors.  This four week course will highlight area Chicago authors and their works.  Expand your literary knowledge and bring back to the classroom stories of interest to inspire readers of all ages.

The Art of Storytelling - An Oral Tradition (LLC 3963)
Storytelling is an art that anyone can enjoy. Learn to craft stories you?ll love to tell, with a focus on supportive feedback and coaching. This hand-on, skills-oriented course, will explore what it takes to conceive, develop, create and tell a compelling story. This class is recommended for beginners and novices who wish to polish their storytelling and public speaking skills. 

New! Creating Quality Graphics for Effective Learning (LLC 4348)
(Teachers for CEU) During this hands-on class, participants will learn proven guidelines for planning and creating effective instructional graphics for in-class and online use. This class combines practical graphic production advice with cognitive research and information processing theory that shows that students learn better if appropriately designed graphics are included in instructional presentations. Participants will be provided with examples, exercises, and hands-on activities that link visual design and instructional design.

New! Presenting and Training with Magic (LLC 4311)
Learn secrets from the world of magic to jazz up your presentations and reinforce your main points. This class is designed for anyone who wants to impart a memorable message, including speakers, salespeople, coaches, teachers and trainers.  Participants will learn a series of simple magic tricks guaranteed to grab the attention of any audience. This class is for adult students who want to learn new ways to put a sparkle in their presentations and make memorable points stick.

Have You Seen the Tully Monster (LLC 4062)
Illinois is the site of one of the most world famous fossil producing regions in the world, called the Mazon Creek area. This area runs through Kankakee, Livingston, Will, Grundy and La Salle counties and has produced some the most amazing fossils ever found! The Illinois state fossil, the Tully Monster, comes from this area and is found nowhere else in the world! This session will discuss where and how to fossil hunt in the Mazon Creek area. We'll discuss finding and preparing your fossils, and how to obtain more information about them. Bring your Mazon Creek fossils and we'll identify them at the end of class. Each participant will receive a free Mazon Creek fossil and you'll get to see a real Tully Monster!

The Illinois and Michigan Canal brought unparalleled growth to Chicago and Illinois and played a crucial role in the development of America. Learn more about America's many great canals and the people who built them during the Canal Era which ran from 1790 to 1850.  Examine this largely overlooked chapter in our nation's history and the network of canals that once connected a young nation.

Hidden History-The Southwest Suburbs (LLC 3974)
Learn about the rich cultural, artistic, and architectural wonders hidden right in our own backyard ? the southwest suburbs. Discover a hidden 28-square-mile forest with a rock canyon. Cruise through local history on the I&M Canal and learn about Chicago?s most famous ghost story. Even if you are a longtime area resident, you are guaranteed to learn something new about the hidden history of the places you call home.

Conversational Sign Language I (LLC 1056)
Learn signing through demonstration and participation. This class is for individuals with no background in sign language. Topics include the manual alphabet, basic word signs and beginning sentence work.

Conversational Sign Language II (LLC 1057)
Expand on "Conversational Sign Language I." Widen your signing vocabulary, gain higher proficiency with the manual alphabet, practice your skills and continue developing sentence work.
