The Joliet Regional College & Career Fair is your one-stop shop for the next steps, whether it be finding a career or transferring to a four-year institution. JJC students, alumni, and community members are encouraged to attend and explore the wide variety of colleges and universities, internship, co-op, part-time, and full-time employment opportunities that are represented at the College and Career Fair!

Preparing for a College & Career Fair is essential to make the most out of the opportunities available. Here are some guidelines provided by Career Services:

    Utilize Career Services Resources:
Take advantage of any pre-fair workshops or resources Career Services provides to enhance your preparation. See "Career Preparation Events".

    Stay Informed About Updates:
Keep an eye on any updates or changes to the participating organizations or schedules list. You can view updates and changes on the fair website

    Research Participating Organizations:
Obtain a list of participating colleges, universities, and companies. Research each organization's programs, admission requirements, and job opportunities. Prioritize your target organizations based on your interests and career goals. You can view participating colleges, universities, and companies lists on Handshake or on the fair website.

    Prepare Your Resume:
Update your resume to reflect your academic achievements, skills, and relevant experiences. Make an appointment with a Career Coach or attend one of our resume events to have your resume reviewed in advance to ensure it showcases your strengths. Bring plenty of resumes with you to the Career Fair.

    Prepare Questions:
Develop thoughtful questions to ask recruiters or representatives from colleges. Questions can include inquiries about programs, admission processes, company culture, or potential job opportunities.

    Develop an Elevator Pitch:
Practice your 30-second pitch or introduction! Craft a concise and compelling elevator pitch introducing yourself, your background, and your career aspirations. Practice your pitch to ensure it is engaging and leaves a positive impression.

    Dress for Success:
The recommended dress code for the fair is Business Casual.  If you are unsure of business casual attire, you can find examples here.  Pay attention to personal grooming and maintain a polished appearance.

*FREE gently used and new professional attire available at the Career Closet Pop-Up Shop. April 17 and 23 from 10:00 - 2:00 at the Main Campus in Concourse C. This event is in partnership with the Office of Sustainability.

    Bring Essential Materials:
