Shaun Sanderson

Shaun Sanderson has been named the new Head
Women's Basketball Coach at Joliet Junior College for the 2008-2009
season. He has spent the past three seasons as an assistant coach at JJC
under former Head Coach Tony Giese.
During his time at JJC, the Lady Wolves basketball program has had a 71-22
overall record. The 2007-2008 squad finished with a 20-11 overall record
and a 7-3 mark in the N4C conference. The 2006-2007 team were N4C conference champions with a
10-0 record, Region IV championship runners-up, and finished with a 26-6
overall record. The 2005-2006 roster finished with a 25-5 overall record
and earned the N4C conference championship with a 10-0 mark.

From 2002-2004, Sanderson was an
assistant coach under 2003 Daily Southtown Coach of the Year Danny Turner at Joliet Township High School. He
helped guide the Lady Steelmen to a
Regional Championship and two Top 25 final rankings in the Chicago
Sun-Times. Prior to his years at JTHS, Sanderson was a
volunteer assistant/manager at the University of Illinois at Chicago under
then head coach Tim Eatman. He assisted in tape editing, statistics,
practice drills and individual skills. Sanderson started his basketball
coaching career in 1997, when he was hired as the head coach for Calvary
M.B. Church girls’ basketball team in Chicago.
A native of Chicago, Sanderson graduated from Dunbar Vocational H.S. where
he was a standout outfielder. He then went on to Central State University
in Wilberforce, OH to continue his playing career. In December of 2007,
Sanderson earned his Associate of Arts degree from Joliet Junior
College. Currently he is attending Governors State University where he
will earn a degree in Communications in December of 2008.
Shaun currently
serves as the recreational coordinator for the Harvey Brooks Foundation
(Joliet), a non-for-profit organization that provides life-skill
development and educational achievement. For the last three years,
Sanderson has served as coordinator for the Joliet YMCA's Achievers
Program. He is also a member of the Black Coaches Association (BCA). Sanderson and his wife Elaine reside in Joliet. They have
a daughter, Sydnie.

George Lowery
Assistant Women's Basketball Coach
The 2008-2009 season will be Coach Lowery's
first term as women's basketball assistant at Joliet Junior College.
Coach Lowery spent six years coaching high school students at various
schools in Will County. The last five years, he served as Head Coach for
the sophomore and freshman girls' basketball teams at Joliet Township
High School. Prior to that, he spent time as the freshman boys' coach at
Bolingbrook High School. His overall secondary coaching record is 88
wins and 32 losses. He has also had the privilege of being Head
Basketball Coach for all grades at Valley View Middle School. Mr. Lowry
started his coaching career in 1997 at Valley View Middle School as a
boy's and girl's basketball and track coach.

mathematics degree in secondary education and has worked for the last
twelve years as a paraprofessional at a junior high. |

Siobhan Dantzler
Assistant Women's Basketball Coach
Siobhan Dantzler will be joining the Lady Wolves coaching
staff this season as an assistant coach. Dantzler comes to JJC from Hyde
Park High School, where she was the girls' varsity assistant coach for
the past two years.
Dantzler played collegiate basketball at South Suburban
College for two years. She then went on to Chicago State University on
an athletic scholarship where she averaged 12 points per game and 8
rebounds per game as a senior. She finished her collegiate career as the
second all-time leader in blocked shots at Chicago State. Not only was
she successful on the basketball court, Dantzler received All-Academic
honors as well. In 2001, Dantzler went on to play professionally for the
Challengers of the NWBL USA Elite traveling team.

Along with her playing experience, the last
six years Dantzler has served in various roles at different summer
basketball camps.
A native of Chicago, Siobhan earned her
bachelors degree in Political Science from Chicago State University in
2001 and her MBA from Keller Graduate School in 2006. She is employed as
a manager in the Allstate claims office. |
