Lady Wolves
ranked 2nd in the NJCAA Division III Basketball Pre-Season Poll
The Joliet
Junior College Lady Wolves basketball team has been ranked #2 in the NJCAA
Division III national poll. Returning for the Lady Wolves is Shantel
Johnson, Autumn Weeks, Telyshia Adams, and Sarai Guerrero. Last season's
team led the nation in offensive average scoring an amazing 84.3 points
per game. JJC finished with a 26-6 overall record, won their third
straight N4C conference championship with a 10-0 record, and came in as
Region IV championship runners-up.

Shantel Johnson receives Pre-Season All-American Honors
Shantel Johnson
has received NJCAA 1st team Division III Pre-Season All-American honors for the
women's basketball team. Last season, Johnson put up 16.0 points per game,
6.0 rebounds per game, 4.8 steals per game, and 3.5 assists per game. Her
efforts earned her NJCAA Division III 2nd team All-American, Region IV
All-Region, N4C Conference Player of the Year, and Region IV
All-Tournament.

receives NJCAA Division III Co-Player of the Week
Shantel
Johnson has received NJCAA Division III Women's Basketball Co-Player of
the Week. The 5'9" guard led Joliet to a 3-0 record and the number one
ranking in the first regular season poll. In a
76-66 win over defending
national champions Anoka-Ramsey she had nine points, 11 rebounds, eight
assists and six steals. In a 95-59 win over Division II Prairie State
College she had 19 points, eight rebounds, five assists and eight
steals. To cap an already successful week Johnson had 20 points, nine
rebounds, five assists and five steals in a 76-59 win over Division II
Illinois Valley.
