The Joliet Junior College men's tennis team dropped a 7-2 decision to Elgin Community College. #1 singles Traveon Owens defeated his opponent by a score of 7-5, 6-1. #6 singles Matt Shay chalked up a 6-2, 6-0 victory over his opponent. JJC (0-1 overall) hosts Lake Land College on Monday, April 2, 2007. Match time is 2:00 pm.

The JJC men's tennis team was defeated by Lake Land College by a score of 8-1. Traveon Owens and Matt Alvis were the lone winners for the Wolves winning their #1 doubles match by a score of 8-6.

The JJC men's tennis team won their first match of the season with a 9-0 sweep over McHenry County College. #1 singles Traveon Owens defeated his opponent by a 6-0, 6-0 score. #2 singles Matt Alvis won his match by a score of 4-6, 6-1, 10-4, while #3 singles Michael Fabrizio was victorious with a 6-2, 6-2 score. #4 singles Alex Lopez defeated his opponent 6-0, 6-1, as  #5 singles Andrew Vignocchi and #6 singles Cale Ripsch won their matches by default. #1 doubles team Traveon Owens and Matt Alvis put up a 6-0, 6-0 score, while #2 doubles Alex Lopez and Michael Fabrizio won by a 8-3 score. #3 doubles Cale Ripsch and Andrew Vignocchi won their match by default.

Joliet Junior College was narrowly defeated by Illinois Valley Community College with a 5-4 score. #1 singles Traveon Owens defeated his opponent by a score of 6-4 and 6-2. Joliet swept the doubles category. #1 doubles team Traveon Owens and Matt Alvis won their match by a score of 4-6, 7-5, and 10-7. Alex Lopez and Michael Fabrizio won #2 doubles with a 8-3 score, and #3 doubles team Cale Ripsch and Andrew Vignocchi won their match by a score of 4-6, 6-2, 10-5. JJC (1-3 overall) travels to Moraine Valley Community College on Monday, April 16, 2007. Match time is 2:00 pm.

The JJC men's tennis team was defeated by Moraine Valley Community College by a score of 7-2. #6 singles Andrew Vignocchi defeated his opponent by a score of 7-5, 2-6, 14-12. #3 doubles Cale Ripsch and Andrew Vignocchi won their match by a score of 8-4. JJC (1-4 overall) hosts College of DuPage on Thursday, April 19, 2007. Match time is 3:00 pm.

The Joliet Junior College men's tennis team was defeated by N4C conference opponent College of DuPage by a score of 6-3. #5 singles Cale Ripsch and #6 singles Andrew Vignocchi won their matches by default. Ripsch and Vignocchi were default winners in the #3 doubles match as well. JJC (1-5 overall) travels to Rock Valley College on Saturday, April 21, 2007 for a tri-match with Rock Valley and Sauk Valley.

JJC men's tennis was defeated by N4C conference opponent Rock Valley College by a score of 8-1. #5 singles Andrew Vignocchi was the lone winner with a 6-4, 6-4 score over his opponent.

Joliet was defeated by Sauk Valley Community College by 6-3 score. #1 singles Matt Alvis defeated his opponent by a 4-6, 6-2, 10-6 score. #2 singles Michael Fabrizio won his match by a score of 7-6, 4-6, 10-6. #5 singles Andrew Vignocchi was a winner with a 6-2, 6-1 score over his opponent. JJC (1-7 overall) hosts Waubonsee Community College on Monday, April 23, 2007. Match time is 2:45 pm.

The Joliet Junior College men's tennis team posted a 9-0 victory over Waubonsee Community College. #1 singles Matt Alvis defeated his opponent by a score of 6-1, 6-3. #2 singles Cale Ripsch defeated his opponent 6-0, 6-0, while #3 singles Andrew Vignocchi won his match by a score of 6-2, 6-1. #4, #5, and #6 singles were won by Joliet due to default. #1 doubles team Traveon Owens and Michael Fabrizio defeated their opponents by a score of 6-1, 6-2. #2 and #3 doubles were also won by Joliet due to default. JJC (2-7 overall) hosts the N4C Conference/Region IV Tournament on Saturday, April 28, 2007. Match time starts at 9:00 am.

4/28/07

The JJC men's tennis team received 2nd place in the Region IV Division III tennis championship. Rock Valley came in first with 23 points, Joliet second with 17 points, and College of DuPage was third with 11 points. Rock Valley and Joliet will advance to the NJCAA Division III National Championship tournament at Collin County Community College in Plano, TX on May 14-17, 2007. Sophomores Andrew Vignocchi and Cale Ripsch from Coal City captured the # 3 doubles title of the tournament, while Vignocchi won the #6 singles title outright. Winning matches during the tournament for JJC included Traveon Owens at #1 singles, Michael Fabrizio at #3 singles, and Alex Lopez at #4 singles.
