The 2008 season marks Cris Trillo’s seventh year as the head coach of

Championship and earning a spot at the District B Tournament for the
second year in a row. Trillo's teams have compiled a 55-47-3 overall
record, but in the last three seasons JJC has established a 26-7-1 record
against Division III schools. Coach Trillo was named Region IV Coach of the Year

In 1993, Trillo came to JJC to teach Spanish and French for the English & Foreign Language department. A year later, he
created the soccer club and coached it for 8 years until Joliet Junior College made men’s soccer a varsity sport. In 2002, he was offered
the coaching position at JJC. He now devotes his time to his two passions: languages and soccer.
Trillo spent his childhood between Morocco and Spain. He attended a French school in Tangier, Morocco and was a
two-sport athlete playing both soccer and basketball. He attended the Universidad de Granada in Spain where he played soccer and
received his bachelor’s degree in Translation. Before coming to the U.S., he worked and played club soccer in Madrid, Spain.
In the United States, Trillo also received a bachelor's and a
master’s degree from the University of Northern Iowa. While
attending UNI, Trillo played club soccer. Now, he continues to play soccer in the NSL at the Odeum in Villa Park during the winter months.
In the summer time, he travels to Spain with his wife Donna and their two daughters.
