The 2008 season will be Jason's
second as Assistant Head Baseball Coach, but he is no stranger to the JJC Baseball program. Jason started off his college career as a player for
Coach Wayne King in 2000. In that year, he played outfield for a Wolves
team that competed in the World Series in Batavia, NY, where they took 8th
place. He led the team in stolen bases with 21 in 22 attempts.
The following year in 2001 he
played the role of "utility man", playing all nine positions throughout
the spring. Mainly playing third base, he also recorded 48 innings on the
mound, with 45 strikeouts, 5 wins, and 3 saves, including a win and a save
in the same day in a dramatic double header against the College of DuPage,
which sealed a Wolves regional championship. Jason was also a part of the
coaching staff for the 2003 and 2004 seasons.
Jason is a graduate of Joliet
Central High School, where he was a three sport athlete playing baseball,
basketball, and football. He was a three year varsity player for baseball
and a two year captain. After moving on from JJC, he went on to the
University of St. Francis, where he earned his Bachelor of Arts degree in
advertising and public relations.
Jason is a full-time staff
member at Joliet Junior College. Splitting his time between the Athletic
Department and Admissions, he also serves as a recruitment specialist.
Prior to JJC, Jason worked at Plainfield North High School as a special
education teacher's assistant and an assistant baseball coach. |
