Koncel voted as NJCAA Pre-Season All-American
Sophomore Ed Koncel has been voted as an NJCAA Pre-Season All-American.
The 6'3" short stop had a .311 batting average on 209 at bats last
season. He had 65 hits including 8 doubles, 6 triples, and 4 home runs totaling
43 RBIs on the season. Ed earned 2nd team All-American honors along with
being named 1st team All-District, 1st team All-Region, and 1st team N4C
All-Conference. |

Roark receives Ringor/NJCAA Division III Pitcher of the
Week
The top-ranked Wolves got a
great performance out of their ace Dillon Roark on April 6 against rival
Harper College (Ill.). The Wilmington, Ill., native recorded a three-hit
shutout, going seven innings and striking out 12 Harper batters in the
2-0 victory. The victory was his sixth of the season and he currently
leads Joliet with a 0.87 ERA. |

Koncel drafted by Texas Rangers
Ed Koncel, shortstop of the Joliet Junior College
baseball team, has been drafted in the 2008 Major League Baseball (MLB)
draft. He was selected in the 13th round (393rd pick) by the Texas
Rangers. Koncel was a vital part of leading the Wolves to the 2008 NJCAA
Division III World Series Championship. He batted .373 with 72 hits for
the season. His 63 RBIs and nine homeruns were a team high. Ed earned
MVP of the N4C conference, was a 1st team all-region selection, and was
named as a 3rd team NJCAA Division III All-American. |
