Laurie McPhillips has lived in Will County for 35 years. She was raised in Mokena and New Lenox and is a Lincoln-Way High School graduate. Laurie
attended JJC from 1989-1991 earning her A. A. degree in Business Management. She went on to Governor's State University to gain her B. A.
concentrating in Business Administration. Laurie has worked for the County of Will for 21 years, and currently holds the office of Will County Recorder of Deeds. Prior to being Recorder of Deeds she held the position of Will County Director of Operations. |

As a member of the JJC Alumni Board of Directors she hopes to help increase the public awareness about educational opportunities that are available
for the community through Joliet Junior College. Based on her experience, she wants to help educate potential students on the convenience of beginning
their education at JJC or going back to school and being able to do it on their schedule, close to home, either on days, nights or week-ends. She is an active member of the Will County Habitat for Humanity Board of Directors, United Way of Will County-Public Service Sector Committee, Will County Emergency Food & Shelter Board of Directors, Council for Working Women/Joliet Chamber of Commerce and Zonta. Laurie resides in Plainfield with her husband, Russ and her son, Johnny.
