Skip Griparis
Class of 1969
Skip Griparis attended JJC from 1967-69. The talented musician, singer, songwriter, comedian & playwright’s movie credits include Major League I & II, where he played opposite Bob Uecker. Skip toured for four years with Olivia Newton-John as guitarist and vocalist. For two years, he fronted Chicago’s New Colony Six. Griparis currently sings and plays jazz with his trio, and his CD of original songs is called “Love in Lincoln Park.”

Skip also performs an extraordinary comedic and musical one-man stage show, featuring satirical impressions of more than 45 stars of song, TV, and the silver screen, from the 50's to the present. A Chicago Tribune poll recognized Griparis as one of the top five comics in the nation. He has headlined at Dangerfield’s in New York, Zanies in Chicago and the Ice House in Los Angeles.
In March of 2004 Skip performed at the JJC Fine Arts Theatre, selling out the show. Griparis continues to perform nationally and has a CD entitled, Comedy Concert that was taped during his performance at JJC.
