There are currently two lecture only astronomy courses offered: Descriptive Astronomy which is a survey of astronomy and Life in the Universe which covers various aspects of life beyond Earth.


The biology program serves a diverse population of students, including Biology majors, Nursing majors, students in Allied Health, and students seeking to fulfill a laboratory science requirement.

Chemistry Courses

All chemistry courses offered at JJC include lab experience in modern, well-equipped facilities. Students will have "hands-on" experience with instruments.

Computer Aided Design and Drafting

Computer Aided Design and Drafting Program provides courses in the mechanical, architectural and related design and engineering disciplines.

Electrical/Electronic Automated Systems (EEAS)

JJC’s Electrical/Electronic Automated Systems program was designed for students that like hands-on training, troubleshooting, critical thinking and the ability to sometimes work under pressure.

Geography Courses

Students may choose to study weather and climate or landforms for lab science credit, or they may investigate social science aspects by examining economic or cultural geography.

Human Services

A Human Services Professional is a generic term for people who hold professional and paraprofessional jobs in diverse settings such as group homes, mental health centers, and family service agencies.

Natural & Physical Sciences

JJC's Natural and Physical Sciences Department encompasses a wide range of disciplines, including astronomy, biology, chemistry and physics.

Orthotics and Prosthetics Technology

Orthotics and Prosthetics are the rapidly changing fields involving orthopedic braces and artificial limbs.

Personal Trainer

The Personal Trainer certificate at Joliet Junior College offers students the technical information and practical experience to seek employment as a personal trainer/fitness instructor.
