Current research and trends show excellent job prospects for nurse assistants. Recent occupational projections rank nurse assistants as one of the leading occupations in the health care field. The employment growth is partly attributed to the long-term care needs of an aging population.

The Illinois Community College Board (ICCB) and the Illinois Department of Public Health have approved the JJC Certified Nurse Assistant program. The number of hours students spend in the classroom and clinical setting exceeds the state requirement of 120 hours.

The Illinois Department of Public Health state competency examination must be taken after successful completion of NA 101 in order for students to earn their certification.

Illinois Nurse Assistant State Competency Exam Pass Rates: (includes scores from JJC Main Campus, Romeoville Campus, and Joliet Township High School Dual Credit classes):

2011: 97%        2012: 93%       2013: 94%
