Industrial Maintenance Technology

Two industrial workers

Industrial maintenance is a rapidly changing field. The days of the single-skilled worker are nearing an end. The Industrial Maintenance program was developed between the college and maintenance professionals from the local area to address this trend.

This program is hands-on. Students get experience using industry-standard equipment—equipment they are likely to find on the job.

Skilled technicians are needed to fill the void left by an aging workforce. Multi-disciplined workers are needed to ensure companies can compete in the global marketplace.

Program Outcome

A graduate of the A.A.S. program will find that she/he is prepared for the future of maintenance. IMT graduates have knowledge and skills in such areas as:

  • Power Transmission, Rotating Equipment & Alignment
  • Pipefitting & Rigging
  • Pneumatics and Hydraulics
  • Industrial Wiring and Troubleshooting
  • Computerized Maintenance Systems
  • Machine Shop Fundamentals
  • Basic Welding Techniques
  • Air Conditioning & Refrigeration
