Receiving Articulated Credit

Student smiling

In order to receive credit from Joliet Junior College, the following steps must be completed. Application for college credit for articulated courses (this does not apply for dual credit courses) must be made within two years after high school graduation.

  1. Applying To JJC as a first time student:
    • You must attend a Group Registration Orientation session for new students at Joliet Junior College. The schedule for Group Registration Orientation sessions can be found through the Counseling Office Web site or by calling the main campus at (815) 729-9020
  2. Claiming Credit:
    • Complete the online Credit Authorization Form within 2 years of your high school graduation.
    • Bring a copy of your high school transcripts to one of the scheduled Group Registration Orientations for new students.
  3. What Joliet Junior College will then do:
    • The BEST Partnership Office will route the Credit Authorization Form to the appropriate office(s) for processing which includes a copy to the Counseling Office which conducts the Group Registration Orientation sessions. They will assist you in registering for the appropriate classes.
    • At the end of your first semester if satisfactory academic progress has been made (a "C" or better in the next advance course) the credit for the articulated course will automatically be entered on your transcript.

It's just that simple!
