Fredric Miller, Ph.D. joined the faculty of JJC in August, 2000 as a full professor in the Department of Agriculture and Horticulture Sciences. Prior to joining JJC, Dr. Miller was an Extension Educator, Urban IPM with the University of Illinois, Cooperative Extension Services for 16 years He brings a wealth of experiences and knowledge in Plant Health Care, entomology, and horticulture to his new position.

Dr. Miller is responsible for the arboriculture and nursery production within the department, advises landscape and nursery students, and teaches entomology, plant pathology, arboriculture, and horticultural computations. He is also pursuing ALCA certification for the horticulture program at JJC and has received a grant to develop an on-line horticulture.

Dr. Miller is an adjunct assistant professor in the Department of Natural Resources and Environmental Sciences (NRES) where he is an instructor in the off-campus horticulture graduate degree program and serves as a faculty student advisor. In addition to teaching, Dr. Miller is a research associate to the Morton Arboretum focusing on insect and mite pests of woody landscape plants and nursery crops.
