Bill Johnson was raised on a grain, beef, and swine farm near Sugar Grove, Illinois and after graduating from the University of Illinois with his Masters Degree in Agriculture Education came to Joliet Junior College in the fall of 1968. Bill teaches classes in Agriculture Economics, Agricultural Marketing, Farm Management, and Introduction to Agriculture.
Bill is the advisor for students enrolled in the Agriculture Production and Management and Swine Management Programs. As Program Coordinator, Bill is responsible for the on-job-placement and supervision of the students in the Agriculture Production and Management and Swine Management Programs.
Bill serves as a member of the Board of Directors and Treasurer of the Illinois Association Vocational Agriculture Teachers. He is also a member of the board and Chairman of the Education Committee for the Ag-Tech at Teeple Barn Foundation and the National Pork Board Adult Agriculture Educators Committee. He is a past Chairman of the Illinois Foundation FFA State Sponsoring Committee and served as President of the Illinois Association of Community College Agriculture Instructors. Bill is active in working with section, district and state FFA activities.
