The Joliet Junior College Fine Arts Department presents the Pulitzer Prize winning play Crimes of the Heart by Beth Henley. This production will be held in the Fine Arts Theatre located on the Joliet Junior College Main Campus in "K" Building. Crimes of the Heart will be performed on October 6 at 7:30 p.m., October 7 and 8 at 8:00 p.m. and October 9 at 2:30 p.m.

Crimes of the Heart, a warm-hearted irreverent, zany and brilliantly imaginative play this play teems with humanity and humor as it examines the plight of three young Mississippi sisters betrayed by their passions who, in the end, escape their past to seize the future.

This production features Ludmilla Lucheck of Plainfield, Katherine Brisick of Crest Hill, Katheryn Knutson of Elwood, Cody Gierat of New Lenox, Kayla Yost and James Polok of Joliet. David Allard of Joliet will serve as the Stage Manager and Margaret Simco of Joliet as the Assistant Stage Manager. The production is directed by faculty member Professor Clay Kirkland

Ticket prices are $5 for the general public and $4 for senior citizens. Discounts are available for students and JJC faculty/staff. Reservations may be made by calling the theatre office at 815-280-2200. As part of the college’s ongoing community service project, audience members are encouraged to bring non-perishable food items to the production where they may be exchanged for items at the concession table. All contributions will be donated to area shelters. Please note that this play has mature themes and language and is not recommended for children.
